Thought you were referring to the piece I posted under Gaijin Confession Friday
-
If the shoe fits. About 90% of content written/filmed by gaijin online (articles, YouTube vids, etc.) seem to come from short term travelers and residents who have not assimilated here in any way. It’s like having one foot in shallow water and writing about the whole ocean.
-
So because someone hasn’t lived here for a certain amount of years, it means their experiences and opinions aren’t valid? Uhhh you’re wrong!
-
It means if you have very little knowledge of what is going on around you half of the time, more than likely you don’t know what you’re talking about. Good news is that if you’re cute enough people will subscribe to your channel regardless of content quality. Good luck, bb!

And why do you think you’re so much better than other people that are just trying their hardest to share their experiences with others???
-
I don’t think I’m better than anyone. I do, however, think it’s impossible to write articles extolling the virtues Japan or commenting on social problems if you have very little normal contact (i.e. beyond being the token gaijin) with Japanese people.
