Elementary schools and middle schools teach these events in history classes. Elementary schools only give you a big picture and basic stats, maybe in 2-4 hours in total. Obviously, as you grow up, you will get to read more resources and understand deeper backgrounds. There is an old debate between 'revisionists' and 'apologists', which produces a lot of books on these events.

Reading English resources, it looks like the mainstream view on Pearl Harbor and Nanjing is not much different between Japan and the west. Hiroshima is a bit different - the narrative of 'Hiroshima was the cost Japan had to pay' and 'Hiroshima was necessary to stop the war from prolonging' that you may find in some of American sources are rather extreme from the Japanese point of view - in Japan it's more like 'we might deserve some payback, but it went too far'.

Yeah most businesses done in suits for sure in Japan too. But in university basically no student wears a suit, and even jackets are not the majority - they are reserved for guys who are fashionable. Professors wear slightly more professionally than students though.

By the number of companies it's dominated by mobile game industry. Several giants such as mixi and DeNA got big with their successes in mobile gaming. (Fun fact: there was mobile gaming market in Japan before smartphone was a thing basically because of NTT DoCoMo's i-mode). But a lot of people say (and I agree) it's less innovative.

Raksul.com is an interesting one. One of its services, hacobell.com, provides a 'Uber for trucks'.

Buses are normally not overcrowded. In busy cities you may have fully seated buses but that's about it. More crowded is subway and train. People riding buses are quiet but it can apply to other transportation too.

Shinkansen is more popular than plane for long distance trips. Although in these 10 years or so planes got competitive by lowering the price.

In Sweden we got a short song that goes "a bus driver, a bus driver, it's a man with a cheerful mood" - would you say that's true in Japan as well?

I have a funny memory about Sweden... Years ago I met a Swedish guy in university. One thing I remember about him is he insisted on wearing a thick jacket even in the Japanese summer that is like a sauna (like 37 C, 80% humidity). He said it was simply not a good style to be in t-shirt in workplace and public spaces.

Is this attitude common in Sweden? (To be in style even sacrificing something )
