Gender differences do exist, but broad assumptions will roadblock men and women who do not conform to those expectations.

I would like to have seen his thoughts on race and culture impacting "openness, problem-solving neuroticism, agreeability" et.al.
-
Also sexual orientation .I'm sure KKK would have loved more pseudoscientific language to back up their ideas.
-
I like that just as much as I like scientists saying conservatives are wired differently, stronger "disgust" reactions etc.
-
I like that as much as his bosses liked hearing him imply they didn't have the acumen to choose women who could perform well at Google.
-
Or men. Did he really think they can't look at an individual and see what his/her strengths and weaknesses are and if it fits their needs?
-
Do you reckon it's just a bit stupid to imply that your bosses are hiring second rate people just to be PC and expect they won't be annoyed?
-
I think that is the true reason why he was fired. He implied his bosses could not see that an employee would be badly suited for a job -

This isn't the root of the problem, but I think most people misunderstand what is meant by the jargon term neuroticism.

Misleading. treat all men as if they are natural leaders? Treat all women as if they are brilliant w/ people? treat everyone as individual!

I can tell you, many women start my Computer Science degree in the 90's, most dropped out and only the rare few held interest to complete
-
What, from your perspective, happened? Have your read what CMU and HMU have been doing? They've seen increased interest and persistence
-
Great but in the 90's i saw. Pregnancies, lack of interest, lack of attitude. Mind you many men started and dropped out too.

Of the women that I subsequently worked with, they were brilliant coders and testers. Let people be people. We arent all the same.
-
We don't have to be the same, no- but there is evidence that women's representation in CS isn't simply due to lack of interest or ability.
