About this project
SEX
Now that I have your attention, I want to get to the point. We are making a short film about a student who is the victim of sexual violence. But this film is a little different. Typically, the victim is female and the rapist is male. But consider the following statistics according to R.A.I.N and the CDC:
- 1 in 10 rape victims are male.
- 1 in 16 male undergrads will be the victim of sexual assault while in college.
I wrote the short film 15 Minutes with a few simple goals:
1. To educate people about a little known and often rarely discussed fact of victims of sex crimes. A young college woman is the stereotypical poster child of a victim of a sex crime. But that is not the complete story.
2. To encourage discussion and action.
3. To help people understand that sexual assault is not a gender specific issue but a human rights issue.
All victims of assault deserve to be believed and treated with respect regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, age or socioeconomic status. I strongly believe that in order to combat sexual assault we need to address that both men and women can be rapists and that anyone can be the victim of assault. We need to include men in the conversation for victims’ rights. They need to know that they have a right to speak up and to be heard.
Please help use speak up for all victims!
To help tell our story, we are recruiting some very talented actors.
Michael Julius Saunders as Danny and Gabrielle Bousum as Prof. Reagan
We will be announcing a very experienced actor as Dr. Raymond soon! But our incredible talent doesn't stope with the actors.

Laura Jean Bransky - Director:
Laura Jean has a deep-seeded undertstanding of production. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara’s film program in 2008 and trained under Jackie Apodaca in the art of directing actors. She says, "I have been complimented many times on my ability to elicit honest and engaging performances. I have a distinctive visual style that tends toward long lenses, strong backlight, and layered composition, but ultimately, it’s the characters and story that drive all of my creative decisions."

Risks and challenges
With anything in life, there will always be challenges. Prime example: my Dell laptop computer that is around $2,000 bucks, died on me. I use it for all my editing. It will cost around $200.00 bucks to get it fixed. But I am rising to the occasion and will fight thru it. I have dealt with much worse.
Actors or crew get sick. Locations fall thru. But I always push thru and work with team to find solutions.
