Here in South Africa those who are mixed are referred to as coloreds and its not considered offensive.

South Africa's distinguished history of sensitive, caring conversations on the nuances of race seems like a fine citation to make.

Only tangentially related but South Africa and races reminds of an intense (I use the word lightly) ongoing debate in r/cricket.

South Africa has a very tiny white population but most of the major cricketers are white. So in light of that, the South African government decided that a racial quota system will be instated, making the presence of at least 6 non-white players mandatory and at least 2 of them must be African black.

This has resulted in repeated unpleasant discussions over whether certain players are in the team merely because of their color.

The fact that many up-and-coming white players (examples - Kyle Abbott, Rilee Rossouw), have decided to jump ship and quit international cricket in favor of more stable and secure county cricket contracts in England (using a deal called Kolpak deal) hasn't helped matters.
Making your way into a team of the best 11 players in the country was tough as is. Doing the same with only 5 spots available is a pipe dream for most. You're essentially competing with THE best 5 players in the country.
Brexit has also hastened this exodus as after UK leaves the EU, Kolpak will not be possible.

The failure of the South African cricket board to implement this change satisfactorily caused it to be banned from hosting global tournaments by the government.

I guess the point of my digression is that South Africa still has glaring flaws in the way it deals with racial issues.

Admittedly, that is the agreed upon parlance there. Trevor Noah has a great bit on it in one of his stand-up routines where he talks about his experiences abroad challenging his very South African notions.

The original post is gone. What was the cartoon?

[–]AriadneCat [スコア非表示]  (3子コメント)

The 'Why?" link in the OP here is the cartoon.

[–]ShadedKnightIf you're reading this comment, I'm already dead. [スコア非表示]  (2子コメント)

Just to add, you'll probably have to look at the snapshillbot "Why?" section to see the cartoon. The one in the main post got deleted.

The "Why?" link in the OP's (the one here in SRD) actual post works for me.

[–]voluptate [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

The one here in SRD does not work for me.

I get the "it's probably been deleted" message.

What a bogus argument. Private property is inherent to being alive at some level. Did you find a sharp rock and then start using it? Private property. There will never be a society with no private property.

Private property didn't exist throughout most of humanity's existance. It was borne out of the stratification that came with class society. For most of the time humans have been on earth goods were owned communally. Including sharp rocks.
