What is EXPLOSHIELD ABS?
EXPLOSHIELD ABS is a phone case and a battery case made from real-life advanced bomb suit material. Since the last quarter of 2016, there was a new risk to our personal safety - smartphones and lithium batteries.
In August 2016, Samsung launched its Galaxy Note 7 and in September, many reports and incidents indicated the phone would explode. Many battery explosions caused personal injuries and fire threatened the safety of people's lives and properties. The stories of the battery explosion spread fast and all airlines banned the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Samsung announced a global recall in October 2016.
The Smartphone Hazard
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 story caused a global panic because it was Samsung, it is the biggest cell phone manufacturer after Apple. If even they cannot guarantee the battery quality, who can? Even from our personal experience, research and news, Apple’s iPhones and MacBooks also have the battery explosion treats.
When battery explodes, the ABS will contain and shield the explosion and fire and as long as we can seal the ABS such that the air, therefore oxygen, cannot flow into the ABS, the fire could not burn – simple science theory from elementary school! From here, our journey begins…

There are so much science and design in each field and there is a reason for the specialist to “Do it that way”. We learn and learn, research and more research…
Re-designing and re-engineering the EXPLOSHIELD Formula. After we learn the pros and cons for each product class, our EXPLOSHIELD Lab Team re-design and re-engineered the best weight to strength ratio and send the fabric to SGS for testing. This is our EXPLOSHILED Special Formula!

Step 5 Kickstarter => Begin Manufacturing => Delivery
The production prototype is for iPhone 7 Plus and Galaxy S8+ (because a bigger case can fit a smaller phone but a smaller case just cannot fit a bigger phone)

It has been a long journey since Nov 2016, we have been working around the clock to get this product to the market as soon as possible because we know the earlier we delivery this product, the more people we can help and save.

Risks and challenges
It was a challenge to find (sourcing and lab testing) the right materials (Kevlar and Nomex is not something you can walk into a shop and buy). Fortunately with our industry knowledge and experiences, we finally found the right composition and obtained the SGS Flammability test of clothing textile16 CFR 1610 on 31st May, 2017.
After 9 months of brainstorming ideas (talking the talk) to sourcing materials, lab testing, designing and redesigning and manufacturing (walking the walk) we have completed the working prototype!
We have spent the last 9 months communicating with our supplies and manufacturers to ensure delivery and production goes smoothly once the Kickstarter fundraiser is completed.
With our 12 years of experience in the industry and 9 months of experience working on this project, we can and we will solve any issues quickly and efficiently as we have always done.
