About this project
Dirk Hoogstra, former Executive Vice President and General Manager of HISTORY® and H2™, is launching a new venture called TRITON CITY ENTERTAINMENT. And, he wants to work with you!
"From working on shows like Vikings, I know sci-fi/genre fans are the most dedicated and passionate of any entertainment genre, and we’ll be searching among them for the next wave of creators and artists. Crowdfunding versus traditional finance will allow us to maintain this core philosophy," says Hoogstra, Founder/CEO.
Triton City Entertainment will collaborate to create new intellectual property in the science fiction genre space as the stories are brought to life on digital platforms currently under construction and best described as e-graphic novels. Those platforms will become portals from the creative community to publishers and Hollywood studios in search of the most innovative and original science fiction content.
Looking for the type of inspiration Leslie Greif is referring to? Look no further than Hoogstra's partnering with long-time friend and colleague, Paul Weil, Art Director and GM.
Weil says, he "leapt at the opportunity to work with Dirk on Triton City because he's intuitive, ambitious and open-minded, and his enthusiasm is contagious. I’m so excited to be a part of such a creative endeavor!”
The enthusiasm, dedication, and passion of sci-fi fans is unmatched and the talent within that community is extraordinary. Triton City will be searching among them for the next great stories, creators and artists.
This campaign is designed to provide the minimum amount of funding necessary to launch this entirely new and exciting model for an entertainment company.
To engage creators. To purchase and commission artwork and writing and develop original content. To build out digital platforms in which these new worlds can exist and grow and be engaged with by the industry and the world. And, to protect original ideas and secure artists an interest in the development of their ideas in advance of them being presented to any outside interests.
Join us and help us tell your stories without being beholden to major investors!

Risks and challenges
Our plan is to build three detailed and dynamic "Worlds" per year. We also have to build the digital infrastructure to create the e-graphic novels. It's important to us that our digital platform be unique and stand out in the marketplace. We want the stories to be revealed in a way that allows fans to feel like they've been able to follow these stories from the moment they are created until the moment they hit the big screen. The more interest and popularity we can build around the stories on our platform, the more leverage we'll have as we license or sell them to studios and/or producers. The key to long-term success is our ability to retain ownership stakes in these franchises so that we'll be able to participate in the revenue generated from box office, SVOD (streaming), gaming, retail and licensing.
