To be fair, most people would agree with Hitler if the quotes were anonymous.

[–]TheDwarvenGuyMike "Zap The Trap" Pence [

It shouldn't.

Even though they believed in horrible things they were still humans, and had normal lives with touching moments throughout.

In fact, avoiding empathy for people you don't like is what caused all of those crimes against humanity in the first place.

EDIT: crimes, not grimes

I understand you shouldn't dehumanize them, but you shouldn't celebrate them either. Where do you draw the line?

[–]TheDwarvenGuyMike "Zap The Trap" Pence [

There's a saying in literature that goes "A good villain is one that you can empathize with, but never sympathize with."

It's okay to understand and feel for those who were on the wrong side of history, but the line is drawn when you start agreeing with them.

Honestly the fact that most of them were regular people, under the wrong circumstances makes it so much more scary.

He actually was known as an animal lover

Yes he was actually.

In 1934, a national hunting law was passed to regulate how many animals could be killed per year, and to establish proper ‘hunting seasons’. These hunting laws have now been applied in most western countries.

[–]activatedalmondzFreedom Fighter [スコア非表示]  (3子コメント)

Oh, yes. In fact, one of the more popular Nazi slogans was "Freedom and Bread". It came about due to the starvation blockade that the allies imposed on Germany in WWI that killed hundreds of thousands of civilians, and the virtual thralldom that the Treaty of Versailles put the Germans under. Hitler had quite a lot of grievances to work with.

You could really say this about all socialists, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. At the core of socialist doctrine there is a desire to help those less fortunate, it's the execution that causes unimaginable suffering.

If you can look back at the 20th century and the atrocities that were committed trying to enact socialist doctrines and still identify as a socialist you maybe genuinely evil.

if you look at the 20th century and still support the capitalist world order you may be genuinely evil

[–]NiekischFreedom Fighter [

To be fair, at least one of these wasn't even a Hitler quote. The one beginning, "We are Socialists, we are enemies of the capitalistic economic system," is from Gregor Strasser's 1926 article Thoughts about the Tasks of the Future. It's often misattributed to Hitler, usually by people making the 'Hitler was a socialist' argument against the Left. Not that Hitler would have disagreed with the sentiment, but he wasn't against free enterprise or private property- just against laissez-faire and liberal (aka 'Jewish') capitalism which put private above national interests.

For real, though. Not every idea Hitler had was satanic like some people would like to believe.

To be fair, most of what Hitler said he wanted was actually pretty damn good. It's just that part about erradticating millions of people based on race that kinda put the damper on his legacy.

Probably. A uni lecturer also showed me Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible, after I spotted it on his desk and I asked. The first book isn't a horrifying saga of evil murder by Satan. Just mainly ranting about how God is a shameless dictator, and the 'God is great' praise in the Bible is due to fear - not that God is a nice guy. God is the Kim Jong-un of the heavens.

If shown that The Satanic Bible without any knowledge of religion, in 2017 many would instantly come to the conclusion that Satan was the good guy. I read some reviews of it not long ago, and it was quite funny to see how underwhelmed some people were that it wasn't quite the radical stream of evil that readers were hoping for.

They have no thought of building up a Jewish State in Palestine, so that they might perhaps inhabit it, but they only want a central organization of their international world cheating, endowed with prerogatives, withdrawn from the seizure of others: a refuge for convicted rascals and a high school for future rogues.

And homeless kids.

Seriously, like half their bloc is filled by recruiting homeless kids by pandering to them and telling them which dumpsters to forage for food, which places to steal from, where to sleep, etc.

One of their little playbooks at Evergreen college was leaked awhile back, and it was seriously bizarre how much they pandered to the homeless. "We are your bestest of friends, comrade! Oh hey by the way, can you come to this cool rally next weekend? :)"

The irony is that socialism is basically fascism. A lot of people misunderstand forms of government and economics. https://youtu.be/-MzxC8Mqupw This makes everything extremely clear on the subject.

The video doesn't present a solid case for why its interpretation of the political spectrum is more valid than the common interpretation. While the traditional left-wing and right-wing dichotomy maps out to the horizontal axis of the now-popular political compass, this video just maps it out to the vertical axis and calls it a day. Even ignoring the amount of rah-rah American exceptionalism going on in it, it does a bad job of portraying political and economic systems.

Fun fact, the word "democracy" does not exist in the declaration nor constitution. The founders wanted a republic, because they knew that democracy will eventually lead to oligarchy and the violation of individual rights.

[–]Quastors [

Republics are generally a type of democracy or aristocracy, and with universal suffrage the US is unambiguously a democracy. This stupid meme should have died a long time ago.

Your reasoning for why they did that is totally flawed to, because all the classical republics turned into monarchic empires, so that'd be a terrible model to use to avoid oligarchy.

Uh Hitler probably used some pretty generic political rhetoric at times. Across thousands of hours of speeches and writing and you're bound to run across some similarities.

One might even say you could compare anyone you don't like to Hitler.

Aye, but if you asked them if bad people could have points or attempt to somehow humanize those they oppose you'll end up as the enemy. It's not really a lesson in and of itself; more than anything it just demonstrates that someone who knows what they're doing can quotemine effectively. But it is an indicator that even bad people can have good ideas, or that something that seems like a good idea is not necessarily always so. The antifa "movement" would do well to learn that.

Then again that end of the left is filled with people who think holodomor is a hoax. LSC is particularly bad. So they probably fit in decently with the hitler rhetoric, I guess.

"Bash the Fascists and punch Nazis! Why? Cause it's 2017! (always state current year) We won't let them divide us! Everything that is wrong with the whole world is their fault! (No need to justify any statements. Your audience is stupid.) It's evil conservatives (always demonize those you oppose) and their evil white capitalism that are oppressing us!
