飛行機の機内でみただけだけど、テッド・チャンの『あなたの人生の物語』を映画化した Arrival はよかった。エイリアン言語や会話の描写が原作に劣らず美しい。いい意味でハリウッドっぽくない。詳しくはネタバレになるがフラッシュバックの使い方がうまい。日本語版はまだかな。

原作ファンとして満足度高かったんだけど、多分原作が映画化するのにちょうどいい長さ（短編~中編）だったからだな。「一般受け」的な変更点があんまりないのも良かったが。

If you want to teach and learn basics without having to think about copyright, that's entirely possible. You can always use public domain music - classical and early modern music.

It seems like a scene from or an adaptation of Choju Jinbutsu Giga. No idea about the meaning of this piece specifically, but normally the idea is that the animals with human attires or tools represent unfit people trying (or failing) to do important things.

読み方間違えてたわ

金額の単位は千円

ということは資産は1億じゃなくて1000億。変動分も200万じゃなくて20億。

公式サイトが個人サイトじみたしょぼさだったからそこまで潤沢だとは思わなかった。 1000億というと、笹川平和財団に匹敵するクラスなんだが……。

公益法人informationという使いにくいサイトから「運営組織及び事業活動の状況の概要等について」という書類が入手できる。これは2016年度の報告書の触りである。報告書全体も閲覧請求すれば誰でも見れるらしいが、何かこわい。

  • 公益実施費用額 837,166,143円
  • 収益等実施費用額 386,308,155円
  • 管理運営費用額 22,648,941円

管理運営費用額がちょっと安すぎる。賃金を出さないボランティアを使っているのかな？

It goes the other direction, too: 要件のみで失礼します for emails in business situations apologizing for being too brief. I guess it's people being quick to apologize in general.

あと、長文が目立つ英語板でも、よく見ると短いshitpost ("lol"だけとか)が下の方に大量に埋もれてるだけだったりする

The Ministry of Culture authorized the trip to Japan in December 2016, but has not yet approved the three stops in China. South Korea has also been mentioned as stop for the paintings.

The two share a common trait: both had been celebrities well before getting into politics. Realistically speaking, well known figures such as TV personalities are almost guaranteed to get a certain amount of votes, no matter who they are. I'm not sure if any tweaks in the election system can effectively prevent cases like these.

Also, IIRC, Hashimoto has never been a member of the diet or an assembly.

Maybe it was suzuhimo 鈴紐 or shimenawa, just using the two colors instead of the raw, brown one? In general, Shinto uses the red-white coloring for celebration and things related to festivals. I would guess they simply call it 紅白のしめ縄 or something.
