Chuck Todd on Trump Poland speech: 'Could Putin have asked for anything more?'

NBC News's Chuck Todd on Thursday criticized President Trump for his press conference in Poland ripping the media and U.S. intelligence community, suggesting it was everything Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to hear.

"A trashing of the American press corps and Intel community in Eastern Europe of all places. Could Putin have asked for anything more?" Todd tweeted.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Warsaw with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Trump discounted the U.S. intelligence community's conclusion that Russia interfered in last year's election.

"I think it was Russia, but I think it was probably other people and/or countries, and I see nothing wrong with that statement," he said. "Nobody really knows. Nobody really knows for sure."

While Trump has often ripped the intelligence community's conclusion that Russia meddled in the presidential election, it was his first time doing so during an international trip as president.

Trump also launched a series of attacks on American media, singling out NBC and CNN as "fake news."

Trump is set to meet Putin for the first time as president in the coming days during the annual G-20 summit.
