Two women working in a call centre stole thousands from customers' accounts.

If you're going to commit fraud, don't leave an obvious paper (or email) trail.
"OMG I HAVE THE BEST IDEA," an email from Geoghegan's work email account to Anderson's work email on March 30 reads. On April 18, Anderson sent an email to Geoghegan which said: "Destruction starts todayyyyy [sic]."
Oops. Not a good start. At least don't be dumb enough to wire the money to your own bank account.
Anderson allegedly accessed a number of accounts directly, and transferred the credit to her own bank accounts.
And don't steal from targets most likely to notice the loss. eg lots of individuals where surely at least one of them would notice the irregularity on the next bill.
Some customers contacted ActewAGL with concerns about their accounts, and internal investigations were launched.
I can see why this scheme didn't last long.
The scheme was described in the ACT Magistrates Court as a "sophisticated approach".
LOL. I assume this is satire.
