It's because the world caters to women now. Anything that makes a woman feel good will be told to her, because for some reason people just want to see women happy regardless of who they are or their level of character.

And that drive to see women happy will supersede any awareness of one's own hypocrisy, even in the case of a man who could benefit more from being shown empathy than a woman in a similar situation, his larger problems will be rationalized to be unimportant (in most cases rationalization is not needed, like the third woman in the bottom panel of the comic who can just insult that guy without a second thought, unless they're prodded enough, then they come up with some bullshit like "short men can just date shorter women, but fat women get no appreciation!"), and the woman's smaller self-imposed problem will be rationalized to be a bigger problem.

This is the poisonous mentality that's leading to so much depression among men.
