Scarborough Blasts Trump For Slamming U.S. Intel in Poland: ‘Nothing Short of Disgusting’

Barely a day after arriving in Poland, Donald Trump is already raising hackles among his domestic critics. Chief among them Thursday was MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.

On the set of Morning Joe, Scarborough blasted Trump for disparaging American intelligence agencies on foreign soil. In response to a question from MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson, Trump cast aspersions on U.S. intelligence agencies which suggested Russia had meddled in the U.S. election, and even brought up their very noteworthy failings during the run-up to the Iraq war.

Scarborough called the comments, “nothing short of disgusting.”

“I am certain that his foreign policy team didn’t prepare him that way,” said Mika Brzezinski with some disbelief. “That he’s riffing?”

“As we’ve said before, you’re on foreign soil. This is remarkable,” said Scarborough. “For a sitting president of the United States to be on foreign soil. You can’t really underline this enough, and attack America’s intel community, on foreign soil, and attack America’s free press on foreign soil … For him to attack American institutions two days after the fourth of July on foreign soil, the day before we meet America’s chief adversary is nothing short of disgusting.”

Despite offering some praise for Trump reaffirming his committment to NATO and zinging Russia for their meddling in Ukraine and Syria, Scarborough’s assessment of the trip has so far been sharply negative.
