Zimmerman had no knowledge of his background, and regardless of if he did, he had no right to inflict harm upon him. I’m so exhausted with the evil attempts to make Trayvon out to be a threat. There is no evidence that Zimmerman “initiated an altercation.” Being outdoors in his own neighborhood was not illegal, nor did it justify Martin’s sneaking up in the dark (when Z. apparently was returning to his vehicle), punching him the face, pinning him to the ground and pounding his head on the concrete, which is life-threatening. Obviously you would prefer that Zimmerman had been murdered.
Yes, Trayvon was a threat. His phone records reveal that he was an avid and experienced fighter. He had been suspended from school multiple times for aggressive behavior.
The evidence that he had likely been involved in burglary adds credibility to Zimmerman’s observation that his behavior looked uncomfortably like someone casing homes. And the media picture of him as a sweet little angel who couldn’t possibly have been the aggressor is a LIE.
The jury was correct to determine that he was NOT GUILTY OF MURDER.

Zimmerman was not “holding the gun” when he was attacked. He had a legal right to carry a concealed guy for protection (which, in the event, he needed). If you’re ever in such a situation and still believe it’s “ridiculous” to defend yourself… good luck. You’ll need it.
The actual evidence (which you obviously disregarded) says it was Martin who “approached” Zimmerman (stealthily) when Zimmerman was returning to his vehicle. Martin was an avid street fighter. He could easily have gone back into his father’s girlfriend’s place (where he said he was when he first began talking to his friend), but instead he chose to backtrack and pick a fight.

What everyone fails to admit, is that we have a huge crime problem in this country, not due to society, rather to our very lenient punishment, people are tired of being afraid to walk in their own community, or leave their house to go somewhere, or even go wash their cars. This is why the Martins didn’t file suit right away and never will. BTW, did you know that they already received a MILLION dollar settlement from the condo association? Several days ago in PA, a 5 year girl was snatched from her front yard and forced into a car. Two young boys joined the search and saw the child in the car. In fact, GZ is probably the least racist person in the entire case. The Media never tells you that he went to his prom with a black girl or that he mentored blacks children etc. Legally, there is no basis for a civil rights prosecution. Of course that hasn’t stopped the folks with an agenda from turning this tragedy into a travesty.
As the Prosecution said ” To the dead, we owe the TRUTH.”

Some of the BURGLARY VICTIMS NEED TO COME FORWARD AND ASK TO VIEW STOLEN ITEMS. The sheriff’s office needs to be FORCED to compare the stolen items

NOTE that he wasn’t worried at first when the kid didn’t come home because apparently this wasn’t that abnormal for him and he thought he was with his nephew (who he claims was a ‘responsible’ young man).

It is absolutely sad and ironic that the same people that are indignant about those of us who dare disagree with the non-guilty verdict of Zimmerman, also attempt to say that Trayvon Martin’s criminal record somehow justifies his murder. There is a clear double standard. On one hand, we should all bow to the verdict releasing Zimmerman from guilty and respect our justice system. On the other, it is ok that Zimmerman killed Martin because, after all, Martin was no saint, he had engaged in criminal behavior and drug use. So although our justice system is to be respected as it relates to Zimmerman, to the point of asking us not to express disagreement; we believe that Martin’s death is somehow justified because of his criminal background. How about our justice system taking care of that; rather than Zimmerman’s gun? When Zimmerman profiled Trayvon, he did not have his criminal record in front of him. He had a black kid, wearing a hoodie, who did not look like belonging to the neighborhood. Here is what he also had – prejudice. Which you can clearly hear in his 911 call. For sure, he said to the operator, Martin was “one of those …. that always gets away” If that is not profiling and prejudice, I don’t know what is. We are all entitled to our opinions and prejudice, but the law clearly tells us through many laws and the Title VII of the Civil Right Act that we cannot act on those prejudices and biases. I don’t care what you say about Trayvon Martin’s past. It is irrelevant. When he was spotted by Zimmerman, he was not engaged in any type of criminal activity. Let’s not blame the victim here. And let’s stop trying to justify the unjustifiable.

Please tell me you have perfect teens, I had 4 boys (FYI I am Caucasian). We raised them right but they did not always do what was right when they were teens and drove us nuts and did things I would never have dreamed they would do. They got into trouble and did stuff that drove us crazy and I am so lucky they all survived, learned their lessons and became fine upstanding fathers and husbands. I cringe when I think of what we went through and it was only by the Grace of God that they never met up with a Zimmerman. Back then the gun laws were different and way way more strict and that deterred alot of Zimmerman’s from taking the law into their own hands. Actually, the law was broken by Trayvon Martin when he decided to commit felony assault on someone he thought was unarmed. It was not illegal for Zimmerman to follow him and was not illegal to ask him who he was. It was not illegal to be carrying his permitted weapon. It was illegal for Trayvon to throw the first punch and even more illegal to follow up by trying to finish the job by slamming his head into the ground. That is why the jury found George Zimmerman innocent of murder… it was, in fact, an act of self defense at that point in time.
If Mr. Zimmerman had walked up and just shot Trayvon that would have been murder.

I recommend reading the 911 transcript instead of listening to what the main stream corporate media’s agenda being fed to further the gun control debate ad causing a race war. The problem with this information being withheld from the trial / jury is it speaks to Trayvon Martin’s character and behavioral patterns and should have been allowed in as evidence.
The media lied about the case from the start and manipulated many people to believe it was a hate crime. Further, the media distributing pictures of a 12 year old Trayvon instead of a 17 year old is disingenuous. Trayvon Martin was not a child. When you are 17 1/2 years old, you can join the military (I did). People upset with the verdict are being socially engineered / manipulated for political and other reasons. They don’t no any better and have an inability to think for themselves.
NBC is facing a defamation law suit for editing a 9/11 audio recording and the prosecution is facing sanctions for withholding exculpatory evidence. It will be interesting to see if Zimmerman’s lawyers file a civil law suit against the state for malicious prosecution. They have every right to and the evidence supports such a suit.
Stand your ground is one element in self defense. Most states (sorry Mr. Wonder) have a form of stand your ground element in law. Stand your ground generally gives a person who uses self defense (or defending others) an immunity from civil liability and criminal prosecution.
Stand your ground in short, allows people to defend themselves (or others) even outside of their homes with deadly force if necessary.. and if they believed someone was trying to kill them or seriously harm them…or others. There are many situations where stand your ground law is justifiable. You can’t always retreat.
Deadly force should always be used as a last resort. Deadly force does not necessarily, or always involve the use of a firearm. A baseball bat, lead pipe, knife, automobile, etc. can be considered weapons and can impart deadly force.
This was not a hate crime and there will be no civil rights violation case brought by federal prosecutors regardless of political pressure. Further, if you look at FBI crime statistics you will see a different picture painted regarding interracial homicides.

Zimmerman had no duty, legal or otherwise, to stay in his car, he lived there. Further, there was no evidence presented to suggest Zimmerman did not act in self defense. There is evidence that reasonably suggests that Trayvon Martin was the aggressor.
There is no evidence to suggest this was a hate crime. There is statements made by some reports that Zimmerman took a black girl to his prom, that he mentored 2 black youths, and that he defended a homeless black man in front of the city council because the homeless black man was being harassed / mistreated by the police.
There was a 4 minute window that Zimmerman had lost sight of Trayvon. If Trayvon would have continued on his way home, this likely wouldn’t have happened.
Evidence reasonably suggests that Trayvon wanted to confront the “creepy white ass cracker”. That was a fatal error he brought on himself. I bring this racial slur up as it was the only racist remark that was brought into evidence.

I guess the truth is none of us do know exactly what happened, but it appears most people have taken sides. I myself don’t know anything about either man except what was presented to me by the media or the web, I don’t trust either, what I do know is one man went on trial for shooting another and was acquitted, I accept that the jury saw the evidence, listened to the arguments, and made their decisions based on those arguments, not on the media, not on the internet.
I only support our right as citizens to a fair trial to be judged by a jury of our peers, if we don’t like that then we need to change the system and drop all this other stuff, it is not productive and will not change anything.
If in the future I find myself on trial charged with a crime that I can trust in being found innocent or guilty based on the evidence before a jury and not in the court of popular opinion or according to mob rule. This is truly what is the tragedy here that all of us, out in the world have a better way of convicting or acquitting a person than trial by jury, we would rather base our judgements on what we are presented by the media or by some person half way around the world that never met the people involved in the case.
I would rather hear what ideas everyone has to how we should try people if the current system is obviously so broken that a guilty man would go free or an innocent man would be punished.

The justice system is broken as its sole purpose is to get convictions or generate revenue. It is not designed to find out the truth, prove innocence, or be fair. Zimmerman was found to be not guilty. He wasn’t found to be innocent which in this case, would have been a more just verdict.
The natural law “right to life” supports the premise of self defense. Natural law refers to the use of reason to analyze human nature—both social and personal—and deduce binding rules of moral behavior from it. The bill of rights was born from natural law theory however, natural law cannot be codified / legislated as it is a system of law that is determined by nature, and thus universal. Natural law is an inherent truth which is constantly in conflict with positive law.
This case is a good example of the conflict between natural rights, natural law, and positive law. Trayvon Martin had a natural right to life and so did Zimmerman. Natural law supports the use of reason binding society to moral behavior in which Florida’s positive law (actually all states) supports self defense over a universal natural right to life.
Another conflict is abortion which supports a woman’s right to choose over the natural right to life.
The bill of rights should be known as the bill of privileges as it purports to be founded on natural right and natural law but is modified by positive law. Positive law interprets your natural rights that’s how they become privileges.

Gun laws are more strict today than they were 20 / 30 years ago so I don’t understand how you can make a claim that they are less strict. I have owned guns for 35 years and was taught by my parents at a early age how to use them safely and to respect them. I also served in the Marines which furthered my general firearms education.
Parenting has never been easy and you couldn’t have been so blind when you had a child to think it was. Today, it’s even harder as laws have taken good methods of discipline away from the parent and labeled them as child abuse. Punishing a child in essence is left up to the courts system as you have no right to spank or use other so-called abuse methods to discipline.
Being a good parent requires you to be involved. You need to know who your children socialize with and you need to know those children’s parents.
Zimmerman didn’t take the law into his own hands. He exercised his lawful right to defend himself. I have no clue what trial you watched (if you watched the trial at all) but the one I watched, the evidence supported his self defense claim.
As I stated in my above post, stand your ground is just an element of self defense. Although stand your ground was not used in this case, it is logical to have it as lawful. Self defense or defense of others does not always give a circumstance in which you can retreat. Take a rape or a gang rape as an example. Would you rather have an armed citizen get involved that can stop it immediately, or wait 10 or 15 minutes for a cop to show up? If the citizens stops the rape, he / she is standing his ground. If attacked by the rapist, he / she has every lawful right to protect him / herself. There are many circumstances that stand your ground is logical and the stand your ground law itself describes what is lawful / unlawful in those circumstances.

Trayvon Martin is dead because of the actions of Trayvon Martin. There is a record of Trayvon being in possession of jewelry stolen in a burglary that was covered up to save the reputation of the school. Burglars like to wear hoodies to help cover their face. Martin going back and forth between buildings after dark would be suspicious enough for a watchman to report it to the police. What is known is Trayvon attacked Zimmerman and was beating him so bad Zimmerman feared for his life and thus defended himself. Self defense. Trayvon was probably high on “lean,” which effects are intoxication, agitation and paranoia. This case should have never been brought to trial based on the facts. It was brought on by the Obama Regime race-baiters. George Zimmerman was doing his job as the neighborhood watchman, when he was attacked by Trayvon Martin and had to shoot him to keep from getting killed.
