I find nearly all TV shows and movies to be boring and overly long, often causing me to fall asleep and not follow the plot (if the movie even has one). I have never used Netflix and don't follow celebrity news or gossip at all
When people have talked about the latest movies, celebrities, etc, and I mention I don't follow it or haven't heard of them, I've often gotten negative reactions, such as people treating me like I'm extremely weird, socially inept, etc. I've been mocked numerous times for it with comments like "so all you do is study?". It's not so easy for me to have decent conversations and connect with people. I'd rather just play video games (or even attempt to make my own games), read books, read up on places I want to travel to, go exercise, etc.
Heck, I'd rather live my own life rather watch other live their lives, which is basically what watching TV/movies is. It just seems to me that watching TV/movies is an outlet for people to escape their miserable lives by wishing they were elsewhere
Am I the only one here who just doesn't care at all about the latest movies and popular celebrities? If not, how do you guys deal with stupid people who label you? What if it's at the workplace?
