I voted the straight Republican ticket since 1984 and had to leave the ticket in the last election and join the resistance.

To add: most Trumpists aren't pro-GOP but anti-Democrat. The vilification of Democrats predates Trump. Trump simply stepped into the vacuum.

The only things Trump must do to maintain their support is to attack "liberal" strawmen created by Rush et al. and be attacked by Democrats.
