chris, laci, blaire, her bf, skeptic & i were up in blaire hotel room having a private hangout when someone we didnt know invited herself in
-
-
-
gave us gifts. we let her stay and we chatted about canada and vidcon a bit. then blaires bf asked her to leave several times. she would not
-
blaires bf threatened to spray her with Trump perfume if she didnt go. she left. relieved, we all laughed & cringed at the situation
-
we later found out this woman recorded us from outside the door. illegal in california. this caused some paranoia and panic.
-
the next day several other stories about this girl surfaced from different people. even one about her recording a shitlord while he slept
-
as well as taking people's phones and following herself on twitter on them and showing up at other private hangouts.
-
was she just socially awkward & didnt understand boundries? maybe. i think its more than that. but im not unbiased because it freaked me out
-
we were all too trusting of everyone and clearly everything was too lax. this was a very unfortunate lesson learned.
-
she knew us well from vids it gave her a false feeling of friendship but we didnt know her a surreal situation we didnt know how to handle
-
we were supposed to tell this story on blaires stream without naming names. but she wanted to come on and "defend" herself. it made it worse
-
how she kept dodging questions, moving the goalposts, playing victim & bringing up the "gifts" got me heated.
-
but she doesnt deserve to be piled on. even if she was manipulative. shes clearly very unwell and a very lonely person. its best to drop it.
-
& to friendos planning to go to cons and stuff this is not going to ruin having fun times and meetups. faith in humanity has not been killed

My take from this: In a post-christina grimmie world, I don't think it's unreasonable to be paranoid when someones acting weird at events.
-
She clearly has boundary issues and crossed several lines, but I don't want to speculate on her as a person. You're right, though.
-
This should be a lesson about who to trust and what boundaries people in the spotlight set with people they know very little about.

Ironically. Blaire shouting for her to put the phone call on speaker during a recorded live stream was also breaking the law.
