It's fascinating to me that /r/ConservativeMeta is basically just a place for people to complain about /u/chabanais. He's very clearly a piece of worthless shit both as a moderator and a general human being, yet he still gets to stick around and make that subreddit as awful as possible.

I know it's only because he's such good friends with TK (they had social studies together in middle school and that's where they formed their super kool young conservative bond) but after this long, and this many complaints, and after /r/Conservative has devolved into this completely lame safe space, when is he going to be reconsidered?

Because of him, the mod staff has lost all credibility. New mods had to come in to replace the actual good mods that were fed up and left. I hesitate to use the phrase "reign of tyranny" because it would just feed that petty little Napoleon's narcissism, but when will enough finally be enough?

The entire sub has lost credibility as a "conservative" sub. And some of the mods' abuse of their powers is almost comical at this point.

There's not much left that is conservative about it as long as it remains r_thedonald2.

Once they stop their blatant support and promotion of an authoritarian racist (which violates the rules), it might have a chance.

Thought it was getting to be a bit too many days between Chab incidents. Thought things might have finally calmed down.

Oh well.

EDIT: Nice how you can tell it's a mod deletion because it is still visible in your comment history, but showing as "deleted" on the comment page in question.

Welcome to the other side of the /r/con wall.

Farside banned me, but it was more my fault for the ban, and farside's fault for what happened after

In case it means anything, he has the same policy for self-posts. I wasn't allowed to post about a book we were reading at /r/NonFictionBookClub just because Chab disagreed with something the author said on a completely unrelated topic, and this made the author a 'tardist', whatever that means.

Yes, its maturity and well thought out reasoning at its finest.

Couldn't agree more. You were a good mod. It's a shame to see you guys all get pushed out by the Trump shills.

Welcome to the club!

My biggest issue with Chab is that he is blatently biased. Say something snotty and be pro-Trump, he lets it slide. (...want proof?, look at the crap that Natet, Moons, Standard get away with over and over.)

The bias itself is bad, but honestly, the fact that Chab does it too is what is making this forum a cesspool.

So at this point, the best course of action it just to ignore the the /r/the_donald apologists (and give them the downvotes they so richly deserve, especially Chab, Nate, Moon, and Standard). If you are complelled to reply to something stupid they regurgitate - make it a top level comment on the post rather than reply.

The bright side is this Carolina - Chab is on Trump's side. There are only 2 things that convince people to join NeverTrump: Trump and his supporters.

I feel honored to have made it on your hate-list. For the nothing it is worth, you're not on mine; I actually regard you as one of the most cogent and civil #NeverTrump people.

Can you provide examples of things I've 'gotten away with'? I picked up an unexplained ban a few weeks back, likely for what I still consider to be the most jerk-ish I've been in r/con, so right off the bat it's not fair to say that all of us pro-Trump people live a charmed life. Conversely, I got called an asshole by Carolina the same day that I was banned and no one batted an eye. So if double standards exist, they cut both ways. C'est la vie.

give them the downvotes they so richly deserve, especially Chab, Nate, Moon, and Standard

Well that's unfortunate. It's stuff like this that deepens the divide and antipathy between our factions.

I think a big part of why Nate, Standard, and I go after you #NeverTrump guys (and there are a lot of you, arguably more than active pro-Trump posters) so often is that we're irritated by the continual single-themed barrage of articles and posts that are anti-Trump, to the exclusion of all else. It seems sometimes that your sole interest/purpose/whatever in r/conservative is to bash Trump. Check your submissions, or Carolina's, or Danbury's. They're nearly solid walls of anti-Trump articles with few-to-no deviations. Your comment histories are the same. There is a sub for people to bash Trump in peace (r/NeverTrump), but you can't post in a sub that isn't an anti-Trump safe space and expect that no one will oppose your viewpoints, regardless of who is correct on any given point.

It's not all fun and games opposite you guys. In return for opposing #NeverTrump, we reap continual downvotes, get called racists/members of the alt-right, get mocked as 'Trumpkins', or are told that we are not 'actual conservatives'. (Whatever that means.) I'd wager that nearly every post I make in an anti-Trump thread ends up with zero or negative karma. The few overtly pro-Trump links I've submitted have all received massive downvotes and ended up at/near 0 karma.

I'd really like to see an utter moratorium on all discussion of Trump at all until after the election; I think it would be better for the subreddit, even if it did impact traffic to an extent. I don't think it will happen but it would definitely be nice.

They're nearly solid walls of anti-Trump articles

I would truly doubt that as an absolute statement, but since Trump isn't a conservative, does it really surprise you there are anti-Trump articles on a supposedly conservative sub?

Sadly, though, it's not as conservative anymore as Trump supporters, r_thedonald infiltrators, and alt-rights have nearly taken it over, but there's still a few fighting the good fight. But that's still a few too many for you.

get called racists/members of the alt-right, get mocked as 'Trumpkins', or are told that we are not 'actual conservatives'.

It's almost as if those things were actually true! The fact that r/conservative now kowtows to an authoritarian racist means it's losing its conservative credibility. It's amazing Trump supporters haven't yet moved to Guyana.

I could make similar points with regards to your side has r/the_donald or r/mr_trump to post your non-stop support for Trump.

I'd really like to see an utter moratorium on all discussion of Trump at all until after the election

I'm a very big fan of that idea - except I would add that the moderators who chosen a side should also step down until after the election as well.
