have any of your patients read your blog?
No - or if they have they haven’t told me.
I’ve only had one work-related blog run-in. One of the new interns approached me after a journal club and asked if I had a blog. I think I instinctively face-palmed before I could deny it, and asked her what she knew.
She said that when she was trying to decide whether or not to work at the hospital, she’d asked about the working hours on studentdoctor.net. Somebody had responded (and I quote): “The hours there can’t be so terrible, because one of their residents maintains the closest thing to a replacement for The Last Psychiatrist that currently exists.”
She was apparently a big Last Psychiatrist fan and had been scouting out all of the older residents trying to figure out who it was. Apparently I blew my cover with my journal club presentation and she said she knew it had to be me but she wouldn’t tell.
Studentdoctor.net didn’t mention the name of my blog and she hasn’t figured it out, so I guess that’s sort of like still having secrecy.
