Hello I was attempting to install Fedora 22 and came to the step select the drive to install to I have another linux on the hd how would I delete this and install fedora only no dual boot
During installation, you have the option to delete the partition completely that has another linux installed and to use it for the fedora installation. Look for it while selecting the disk in Anaconda.
Once you select the disk where you want to install the Fedora, select "I will configure partitioning" under other storage options.
Then you will be in the manual partitioning window which will look something like the one below.
There you can delete the partition with your existing OS, then create partitions that you want to use for this new Fedora installation.
Backup all the important data before you do this.
You select the partition, give it a mount point and tell anaconda (the Fedora installation program) that you want it to be reformatted. Then, by the time your new Fedora system is ready to use, your old system and all of its data are gone for good.
