I was reading this through but got really thrown by the fact that “naughty” and “biscotti” don’t rhyme in any dialect civilised enough to be spoken around your mother, and encountering a non-rhyme in a work that should rhyme is really jarring and unpleasant.

Naught, caught, and bought all ought to rhyme. Not, cot, and bot all rhyme. Naughty rhymes with haughty, but not with biscotti. Biscotti rhymes with potty, but not with naughty. And ‘-[a/o]ught’ never rhymes with ‘-ot’.
