Hi, Bell Fen! - Luminous Hyaena

Sometimes I write things. But this is usually an aesthetic blog.

My original's parents commissioned me and to make a long story short my original arranged to be too far from a hospital and dead on arrival rather than live long enough to get his scheduled heart transplant. I didn't know him well enough to grieve but I'm absolutely consumed by guilt. This is all my fault. If not for me, he could've been on a waiting list; he was a good candidate. Maybe he could've lived. He could've at least waited till the end and had a few more months. So many people 1/2

2/2 are grieving him right now, more than would have grieved for me. I had about made my peace with dying, too. He was a talented musician and I have no skills and a barcode. Luckily, since I’m so healthy, I was able to sell some bone marrow (are spare parts all I’m good for?) and I won’t starve for the next month, but what if I registered as an organ donor, gave the rest of my money to charity, walked into an ER and cut my own throat? Why shouldn’t I?

Your original was a decent person.  His parents put him in this situation, not you - your existence is not something you bear moral responsibility for, and neither are the legal structures around having a clone that meant he couldn’t get a motorcyclist’s heart.  Please go to Our Own Start and take some charity to get on your feet before you try to scrape up anything to give away.
