Like… yada yada Intent Doesn’t Matter and all that jazz, but the most vicious callouts I see are often against people who really have never considered the arguments SJ is positing.
And yes, thinking fat people’s clothes look uglier than the same material on a thin person can be a product of our society’s hate of fat people (or it could be that the original clothes were badly designed, as clothes for fat people often are). But I feel like there’s a huge difference between “this pervasive attitude caused you to do something, in ignorance, that you didn’t know would be upsetting to people” and “YOU, PERSONALLY, ARE EVERYTHING THAT’S WRONG WITH SOCIETY.“ And callouts so often go for the latter.
