I am a fairly huge man (6′3, 290 lbs), and I have definitely noticed that some clothes look bad on me not because I am big, but because of design decisions that only work on smaller people. A common example is use of a separate fabric or texture beneath a shirt’s placket, which will flash if the placket is forced a bit apart during any movement - an interesting visual detail on a fit person, a super obvious sign that you’re big on a big dude.

Putting a dish in a cold oven will lead to the dish cooking at lower temperatures for the first 5–15 minutes (depending on heat transfer and capacity.) This is okay for forgiving foods, but bad for many kinds of delicate foods that can’t take overcooking or need a high temperature to properly cook.

Can you give any examples? I have no idea what this could affect.

This and foods like anything dough based need to be browned initially

I use a convection oven so I don’t get the heat distribution problem.

almost any kind of dough will be too dry and/or not properly browned. any kind of cookies or biscuits, for example, or pizza dough.

you do preheat skillets when you cook shit on stovetop, right? same general concept.
