Following CNN’s retraction of a story surrounding the Russia probe and the resignation of three accomplished journalists, a number of conservative commentators took great joy in railing against the network. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump took to Twitter to deliver a rant in which he used his favorite description of the outlet — Fake News — rather judiciously.
Well, at least one direct competitor came to the network’s defense — MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.
The men and women of @CNN have every reason to take great pride in their work. #RealNews

@CNN has more integrity on its worst day than Donald Trump has on his best. #RealNews https://t.co/1Dmb3wwXmq
— Joe Scarborough (@JoeNBC) June 27, 2017
While Scarborough has definitely been on an anti-Trump tilt for a while now, so his comments towards the president aren’t really surprising, his defense of CNN surely is. In the past, he’s taken numerous swipes at CNN’s anchors and the network itself.
