IMGUR has been a DISASTER on Bulletin Boards this week

IMGUR is still unusable on Bulletin Board for the 4th or 5th day running.

NO response to my email below.

Your customer service ONCE was very responsive

Are you on top of this, and when is the fix due please?

I prefer IMGUR over photobucket but you have lost the plot this week.

YEAR old images do not load now when I edit them on Bulletin Boards. "Cannot recognize the image" messages non stop

An appalling mess.

I use IMGUR a lot on Bulletin Boards and prefer it greatly over photobucket who seem to often have tech issues.

Sadly IMGUR has a major fault the last few days.

Many other members are reporting same issue.

New images will not all load on Bulletin Board or editing any post with existing IMGUR images is not possible as they are not being recognised.

Some are, and some are not, even ones all loaded to my account on any given day - even ones same day.

Is this a known issue and are you working on a fix please?

If i understand @ozstamps right, its about user using images hosted on imgur in a forum.
Thats is exactly what imgur once was designed for. And that is probably still ok.

Never had issues with images I've hosted to imgur but...

Gonna reiterate what Hoggyhogwarts said, TOS generally state to not use Imgur to host libraries for elsewhere
Give support a chance, maybe?
You said that customer service was responsive once, did you mean support?
Up to Imgur to enforce their TOS, though I have questions about 'editing images on bulletin boards.'

Yes just on a large hobby Bulletin Board. That isexactly what IMGUR srarted out being for

Been using IMGUR for many years and we recommended it for all members over photobucket who often have tech issues.

Right now even when going to edit mages posted a year back gets this -

Half of them in the post are OK, and half do not load -- all hosted from my own account, all vanilla boring images etc, and which I was happy happy to pay the $30 or whatever a year for IMGUR PRO until their weirdly for some reason a few years decided they did not need money for and send folks refunds!

So no-one sees this issue this week?

I'm seeing that too, I did a drawing for someone, uploaded on imgur, but the person couldn't see it.
I thought it'd be something temporary, but it's been a while...

No to be clear, I add a travel photo etc in my IMGUR account, take the "BB Code" link from that, and post it onto a php Bulletin Board. Just like like one below.

So no editing done on the board .. just the pure image from my account -

Sometimes it loads, and sometimes it does not. Or 4 of 6 might load taking 10 mins to sort out which ones are duds.

Some folks can see it and some of he members cannot.

Seems to be an IMGUR tech issue and just asking it others are experiencing it

Assuming the forum isn't using images illegally, for commercial purposes or adult services, or as a CDN, sharing Imgur images on forums is fine per our terms of service.

We'd love to investigate if this is a technical issue or bug, as the behavior you're describing doesn't sound intended. It looks like your support request was received on Saturday night. As stated on all support mail, the team works M-F 10am-7pm, and on Mondays we jump in starting with the oldest tickets first, which means yours should be answered very soon! Thanks Sarah .. nope none of the above. Just a boring old collector board.

The images already THERE (mostly) display fine, but editing any post with IMGUR images in it sees several refuse to load.

There certainly is a big issue and was simply curious how widespread it was.

Thanks Sarah, well the support team emailed me at about the exact time of your post to be factual, and sorry did not realise no-one on support side working there on weekend. Now Wednesday morning here in Sydney, but good to see it is now being looked at and hope it does not effect too many other users!

Direct image links are loading scripts instead of direct images, hence the reason forums are collectively breaking.

I understand the purpose of making all the images reference the originating website, but nobody needs the image views when sending a direct image link. Nobody needs the header and footer when sending a direct image link. That's what the image page is for.

This is easily viewable if you open a browser and right click for page source. Because direct image links have a page source now.

It is allowed in the TOS to display your images on a forum for personal use, we just have taken the actual capability to do so away. Hopefully imgur realizes the blunder of removing direct links and reverses course on it.
