Katherine Cross wrote a pretty good article about this.

Reactionary trolls simply feign moral outrage in order to trouble the lives of their targets, cause chaos, and create busywork for their opponents. Nothing more or less.

Carl looks to be pulling something now with Franchesca Ramsey. Complimenting her and offering to apologize and wanting to open a dialogue with her.

She's, rightfully, suspicious and doesn't seem to be taking the bate. A huge part of me actually really wants them to talk as she'd definitely tear him apart but I'm sure Carl knows that his fans will take it as an opportunity to harass her (which she also pointed out).

There's also the tiniest sliver of me that wants to believe that he can change his ways but with him relying on his current douchebag behavior to make money, I won't hold my breath.

See here for the conversation. https://mobile.twitter.com/chescaleigh/status/879315932241383424

Human Garbage is currently making a fool of himself on the Joe Rogan podcast

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrBCsLsSD2E

Dude has spent a good 25 minutes moaning about Anita Sarkeeian, looking into the camera and calling her a "bitch" and an "idiot" - didnt have the bollocks to say that to her at Vidcom though did he? Joe is even calling him out saying "You live in a bubble, dude..." but Carl is just going on and on and on and on... What a tragic existence you must lead to get this riled up about someone?

Actually I believe this is something that should be of concern. The fact that he got onto Joe Rogan means that Sargon is now famous to a certain extent. If he keeps up with this one day he'll be on the same level as Milo at his peak, and it's more worrying since the guy is more stable so he might not burn out like Milo.

The Malfoy analogy works in more ways than just that. Isn't there a vague undertone throughout the whole Harry Potter series about Muggle-borns, Centaurs and other disadvantaged people in the Wizarding World going "This is not fucking fair! We are being constantly put down and even killed and you're doing -nothing- about it!"?

You've got the Death Eaters who are pretty much Wizarding Nazis, and then you've got Malfoy, the Wizarding Alt-right. Right in the middle of it, you've got the Ministry of Magic, which are pretty much the 'white moderates' that Martin Luther King spoke about in his letter from Birmingham Jail, where they'll pay some lip service to the problems muggleborns face, but won't actually do anything about it because it's uncomfortable for them.

It doesn't go into detail about the real world parallels, but it does make it pretty obvious to the target audience.

Okay so let's play into this moronic logic of his, and say he and his little "crew" did come there in good faith to hear her arguments and intimidating her was not their intention (I'll take full of shit for $500 Alex). If that really is what your intentions were, WHY WOULD YOU SIT IN THE FRONT GODDAMNED ROW OF ALL PLACES CONSIDERING YOUR HISTORY??? Did he not consider the fact that at the bare fucking minimum that would be some really weird shit to do? Why not sit your sorry ass in the back? I'm sure you could have heard her just fine from there. Did he not consider, even the slightest possibility that considering your history with her and the harassment you caused directly or indirectly, that the person you caused so much harm, and that you dislike so strongly would think that it is very strange that you showed up in person to a panel she is on, let alone sit in the front fucking row of all places? So either A which is the most likely answer Carl is totally full of shit, or B which could be just as likely that he's such an oblivious dumbass that he didn't even give a remote consideration to how someone he's caused so much harm may react to him showing to a panel she is on up in person.

It can't be mentioned enough how much this is all performance for third parties. We know, Sarkeesian knows, and "shitlords" all know what they're really doing.

But the reason they're grinning their asses off, saying they got high on the adrenaline, and bragging that the footage is all out there... it's because it creates this context-free moment that is powerful to recruit more people to hate and create another opportunity to harass. In a vacuum they don't appear to have done anything wrong, even though they're not convincing anyone with the slightest knowledge of the context. Now there's another dogpile "debate" from those who pretend everyone is overreacting.

Sarkeesian mentioned how it is gaslighting their targets, making them doubt reality themselves. Horrible and can't be forgiven. Yet that doubt is all the more powerful for outsiders who don't have the intimate knowledge of context that their targets have.

Actually, it doesn't take much knowledge of context to expose Carl for being the garbage he is. You don't need to watch more than one of his videos (it doesn't even have to be about Anita) to know that his style is to insult and demean everyone and everything he dislikes in the name of le politically incorrect freeze peach. In light of that, the way he reacts so intensely to being called a garbage human one time should make it obvious to all but the most ignorant that Carl is a whiny hypocrite.

And you should be able to immediately respond to anything they bring up even if they've made up a term that's not used outside of their anti-intellectual echo chamber. I've seen a number of creationists, gators, and climate deniers use that exact strategy - invoke a term that doesn't exist outside their sphere then excoriate their opponent for not knowing it as if it were some common piece of terminology. Some of them may think they're attacking "inscrutable" (i.e., they don't understand it, so it's meaningless) academic jargon, but all they're doing is making themselves look like idiots to everyone not already on their side, since no one else has heard of their term either.

Dear Carl of Swindon, aka Carlgon.

When you have been the target of a large, semi-organised mob of fuckwits engaged in harassing you online and calling for your rape, death etc, that was directed at you by someone, then it is appropriate to call them out. But comparing being called a "garbage person" to what Anita etc have gone through, is so hyperbolic it boggles the mind, at least until one remembers just how utter fucking stupid you are. Then again, you've always had a thin skin and lack the brains to hack a spade being called a spade, because you are an actual garbage person. Because if I were to talk about your actions with someone unaware of this whole shit heap you helped create, they would pretty much be disgusted with you and consider you a fuckwit.
