About the project

timeION is an online app that enables company employees to easily communicate an absence, inform about remote work or request time off. The app simplifies the time off request policy and makes the experience pleasurable for both employees and managers. It lets users see all colleagues' availability at a glance and receive absence notifications from the closest coworkers at the right time.

Design

Primary goals for timeION design were three-fold:

create a simplified interface for both employees and managers,
launch an intercom-like tool to provide feedback in real time,
present employees’ working statuses in a clear visualisation.

We combined fulfilling users’ demands and keeping the app pleasurable for everyone.

Web Development

One of the challenges was to create a system that established employee schedules in different timezones. Our back-end team built REST API with Django, Django Rest Framework and PostgreSQL while front-end developers used AngularJS and Bootstrap.

Branding

The goal was to create a brand that people would enjoy and actually want to use its product instead of being forced to use it. We played with letters and symbols to come up with timeION’s logo - simple yet eye-catching.

Key functionalities

Successful business means team growth, and this means more and more employees' working schedules to synchronise. Without information about team members' working status, it's extremely difficult to locate employees, schedule meetings or communicate in the case of emergency. Having experienced all these issues on our own, 10Clouds decided to solve the problem with the timeION app.

It takes just a few clicks to mark availability in timeION. Multiple ways to work with the interface translate into effortless and customised user experience.

Clear visibility of colleagues’ time schedules

Users see all colleagues' availability at a glance and receive absence notifications from the closest coworkers at the right time. Intuitive and simple colour scheme, calendar and user search give quick and easy access to the key information.

Quick time-off confirmation for team leaders

Managers and team leaders can manage their employees’ availability schedules and time-off requests in no time.
