Is masturbating to anime characters a sin?

I think the main argument for lust (or gluttony or anything else) being a sin I have heard from christians is not that you are hurting someone, but that it distracts from the proper worship towards the christian god.

So you should propably ask yourself if watching anime porn and masturbating to it distracts you from your own personal relationship with your god. If it doesn't, I'd say you should carry on. Or in the words of Luther:

Martin Luther — 'Be a sinner and sin boldly, but believe and rejoice in Christ even more boldly.'

 

If masturbation = procrastination for you, then yes. The only way to know is to ask yourself if that time is better spent doing something else. (Keep in mind that we only live 80-100 years)

sexual sin.. doing whatever the body demands even when in opposition (rebellion)against God. To gratify the sinful desire of self thus being ruled by the sinful flesh .as long as sin and flesh is your master....Jesus is not. following the flesh leads to sin and death. following the Holy Spirit of Jesus leads to rightousness and eternal life.
what the heart desires is made evident by a person's actions .Jesus said if you look with lust in the heart then one has sinned already. This is because he knows that all behaviour begins with desire . Repentance is changing ones mind and thus ones desire and Thus ones action.
in short, one who self gratifies to sketched images display that they desire to commit fornication (absolute Sin) and haunt had oppurtunity to do so.
All sin is death. and is to be shunned utterly.those who continue to practice it "do not know God ".

If you were using the images to stir up sexual arousal or to increase arousal, then it might be considered lust. If you were imagining having sex with some cartoon character, it was lust.

 

if your gut is telling you its wrong to masterbate, then its most likely the holy spirit telling you its a sin. that's why i stopped masterbating. better to be safe that sorry.

It was my impression that most christians view all sins as bad, not just the ones surrounding sex.

 

All sin IS bad..

And the worst kind is Sin which we absolutley know to be sin. Why woukd we do such sin when Jesus gave his life to save us out of its power. Why would we then choose to serve the master he set us free from ? How hateful can we be to do such wickedness in the face of the one who died for us and then say we love him . he is notfooled by such hipocracy.

No, I just wish to better understand your understanding of sin and what is a worse sin than another (since you already named "the worst sins").

After all, as I quoted, there are christians who think it better to "sin boldly" but believe in god even harder.

 

Well first by the use of the term “it worse“ im not measuring sin . but stating that it is a greater state of rebellion to do that which is wrong when you KNOW it is wrong and you have already been set free.
As peter states..“It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject .“ and this is what i refer to by “worse“.
As for those who sin boldly ..paul addressed this. “Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound..god forbid.“

Such behaviour shows no fear of god no reverence no faith and no love for him what so ever.
