All paranoids characters constantly in seclusion

So I noticed, multiple games now actually.
That every paranoid character is in seclusion. Not sure if it counts as a bug, or if it's just that they're automatically supposed to go into seclusion once they're paranoid.

Yep same thing, they go in and out of seclusion all the time

Heh, I noticed the large amount of characters in (semi-)permanent seclusion but never realized it was due to them being paranoid.
Since I play with submods I figured it was on my end and didn't report it.

playing 1.4.1 without CoB, same problem here

edit: apparently paranoid characters going into seclusion introduced with reaper's due but they are more likely to go into seclusion since the last update according to a couple ppl on reddit so this probably is a vanilla thing

This was driving me nuts as well. Until there's some sort of official fix provided, what I did was change it so instead of being paranoid, you have to be a lunatic. It leads to much more realistic results.

If you want to do this as well, go to:

C:\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\A Game of Thrones\decisions

Open rip_various_decisions.txt, search for #Seclusion (line 611 if you have notepad++) and where it says
Code: Select all
allow = {
         prisoner = no
         custom_tooltip = {
            text = is_not_busy_trigger_tooltip
            hidden_tooltip = { NOT = { has_character_flag = do_not_disturb } }
         }
         OR = {
            trait = paranoid


simply replace paranoid with lunatic, and save.

ah, thank you. so much, lol. I was wondering if it was something I screwed up as well, but then I realized afterwards that they all, had the same paranoid trait.
