Most don’t believe it. Most are gone well before that. Others believe that Scientology can show them the way to leave their bodies and that given time, they will master and control the out of body experience. They believe that they have evidence for this. They believe that they will gain control over MEST and will become godlike.

A Scientologist will come to believe that the soul, the thetan, is immortal, and existed trillions of years before now. Trillions is a lot. In that time we were not on Earth but lived throughout the universe. All sorts of things went on, some of which resembled bad Sci-Fi from the pulp magazines.

Step by step, a person can be drawn in, though most aren’t and see it for what it is, a money making scam.
