About the spoilers and leaks (self.rupaulsdragrace)

At this point we all know who will be eliminated this week. Even I who stopped opening spoilers for not swallowing leaks I ended up knowing it through constant and unleashed insinuations. My question is simple: Why is it allowed to speak or even insinuate leaks in this subreddit? Why are blatant insinuations allowed or even publish the leaks under the spoiler tag? Leaks are NOT spoilers. Should it be totally forbidden and severely punished to publish or insinuate things from chapters that have not been broadcasted?

For me, figuring out what is going to happen is part of the fun. It takes it from being a television show you watch for an hour each week to a mystery that you can have a lot of fun with during pre season and throughout each week while the show is on.

I guess I don't find spoilers affect my viewing that much. I can't watch the show on Fridays because I get it on iTunes, but I come here to see who won the challenge and who got the chop and the show is still as fun when my boyfriend and I watch it as soon as it becomes available on my iTunes account.

And sometimes they are wrong. Even when I know the T from a reliable source like Ms. Smalls, there is always a chance she is messing with us.

The only spoiler that really bothered me this season was the leaked Farrah elimination photo.

As people have already said, there's no sure way to tell if something is a genuine leak or just bullshit until we get confirmation.

I don't see why leaks (or alleged leaks) are such a problem anyway. This sub is extra about finding T, so of course that means listening to leaks. We're allowed to speculate on any and all material we can find, not just what has been broadcasted

I'm confused by your comment. If you think people shouldn't be spilling this stuff then that's an issue with the individuals who do so, not this subreddit. If you have a problem with people repeating what they've heard, then that's just weird.

Like I said, the average redditor doesn't know a genuine leak from a fake one. So there's no real difference in speculating on a leak and a rumour at the point when they speculate

Are you saying that it's irresponsible to repeat stuff that's true? What do you expect people to do? Only repeat stuff they don't believe? Or are you just mad at the leakers?

This is reddit. Bottom line; people come here for extra t, the stuff you don't get from just the show as it's broadcast.

TL;DR if you're mad at the subreddit, you don't understand it. If you're mad at naivesmalls and supermodelruru then take it up with them

A leak is a spoiler honey. Anything that tells you what happens before a season/episode airs is a spoiler. It's rude and disrespectful to post things online that others may not want to read. Just like if you are going to the movies, you don't just yell out what happens at the end because everyone knows. You don't just tell your friends what happened last night on Walking Dead because everyone knows.
