Most of the Daily Stormer’s donors on WeSearchr are anonymous, with the exception of the comedian Sam Hyde, who pledged $5,000. When contacted for comment, Hyde asked the reporter if he was Jewish and then boasted that $5,000 was nothing to him. Hyde’s TV show on Cartoon Network’s “Adult Swim” programming block was canceled last year, but not before Hyde amassed a following among the loosely knit movement of white nationalists, misogynists and anti-Semites that has come to be known as the alt-right. “Don’t worry so much about money. Worry about if people start deciding to kill reporters. That’s a quote,” Hyde said in a phone interview, laughing, when asked why he donated to support the Daily Stormer. “For the reason why, you can say I want reporters to know I make more money than them, especially Matt Pearce.”

You ever read what he said when reporters asked him about what he thought of that meme?
My wife's boyfriend (open relationship) heard it from the news first and so he and my wife's son were both scared silly for a few days before everything was explained. I also got a call from my rabbi frantically trying to talk me out of doing anything more violent until finally I managed to explain to him that it was a hoax.”

In 2013, Hyde, while dressed in a maroon-colored sweatsuit and clad in centurion-esque breastplate and greaves, delivered a prank TEDx talk titled "2070 Paradigm Shift" at Drexel University that received significant media attention. From what I understand from episode to episode it's rating went down not up which is a bad sign for a show. It was a deathblow when established stars threatened to quit adult swim over it and the shows fans started to threaten said stars and the network over it.

It was only a six episode season, and almost every popular television show in the last fifty years starts out with more viewers for the first few episodes than the last few.

He's not staging a coup or amassing an army or advising crime or blowing himself up or telling others to blow themselves up or really doing anything of any consequence. He's just being a douchebag and saying douchebaggy things. And honestly, the thing that gives douchebags power is people taking them seriously. Don't give them weight they don't have. So how does it matter if he's a particular type of douchebag? How is he different from any other douchebag? I don't think there's any need to bring politics into this. Background:
Sam Hyde was a semi-successful internet comedian who even got his own adult swim show for a little while. A vocal supporter of Trump, his entire life was shattered to pieces shortly after the election.
Due to Twitter drama, he lost his job at Adult Swim, and his Health Insurance shortly thereafter. Book sales and ad revenue were not enough to keep his luxurious lifestyle afloat, so it wasn't long enough until he was forced to sell his home and start living on the streets.
Once having a promising career ahead of him, because of Trump, Sam has lost everything in his life - and he still has so much further to fall. With pathetic job growth rates, Trump's dismal economy will certainly not be doing him any favors!
Hope blaming brown people, immigrants and women for your own personal failures was worth it, Sam!
Sad!

Sam Hyde: A man that is a known white nationalist terrorist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and misogynistic loon. Sam Hyde is probably truly one of the most dangerous men in America today. He's like the Cameron character from the movie AMERICAN HISTORY X.
He creates mob mentality to the nth degree, and has abused his influence to send his zombies to attack poor Jewish journalists on a number of occasions. Joe Bernstein of Buzzfeed has been targeted so badly that he has said the New York Times won't ever hire him now. I think these people take pills from Joe Rogan and Alex Jones that make them more susceptible to believing in hate speech as they are always promoting those products as some kind of life-changing drug. Something to look into.
You'll be happy to know, this guy had a show on [Adult Swim], but it got cancelled for being a complete and utter failure with like 3 viewers and inciting racism and terrorism, hahahaha. All it took was one little Buzzfeed article by an upstanding human being speaking nothing but the truth to bring this guy's entire world crashing down.
You would easily be able to see countless example of this monster's flippant race-driven psychopathy on Twitter, if they hadn't already banned him for threatening to hack Twitter after going on endless rants about Jews and pizza tunnels.
With some research, I found that he (Sam Hyde) also made a series called "KickStarterTV" where he openly bashes minorities, women, and transgender people, and makes fun of their KickStarter campaigns that try to make great changes in the world. He can also be seen abusing his mother to the point she tells him to leave her house which is a pretty funny aside, tbh.
He has actually made a book titled How To Bomb The U.S. Govt that seems to be filled with the echoes of White Nationalist ideals and 'raises the spectre' of a world under social progressiveness (like his show). Further, it seems he had even started his own KickStarter campaigns to fund his hate group as well as another to scam poor unsuspecting "bronies" out of money (see: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2110528317/dark-skyes-an-epic-brony-dating-sim ) Can't believe this guy is allowed on Reddit. I'm going to stop here because I'm actually a bit shaken by how much new stuff I've learned about this man with just a little research.
You'll be happy to know I can no longer support such an utter loser. He was never actually funny to begin with. I can't believe I let him turn me into a Nazi at the cost of a few lousy chuckles.
[–]squelchedup 24 ポイント25 ポイント26 ポイント 10日前 (0子コメント)
he's more than a white nationalist, transphobe etc he's also an ecoterrorist. look it up: he forced 7 women to install solar panels onto their children for, in his own words: "securing a green future by ensuring the next generation embodies the lifestyle to the fullest extent." if it wasn't for the brave whistleblower sarah silverman following the hidden swastikas in construction sites across america he'd have followed through with impregnating women with tree pollen, the logical next step in his horrifyingly misguided plan to stop global warming.

[–]hairy_butt_creek 95 ポイント96 ポイント97 ポイント 10日前 (36子コメント)
The problem is they're already losers when they become white supremacists. They're just losers looking for a reason as to why they're a loser. It's like when an incel blames women, western society, feminism, media, pop culture, and everything under the sun except himself for his lack of success with women. A white supremacist blames jews, Mexicans, blacks, or Muslims and everyone except themselves and their shitty decisions for their loser life.
You never see normal, well adjusted people at white-supremacist rallies for a reason. Few exist. It's a lot of overweight or underweight people with shitty tattoos, missing teeth, torn up shitty clothes who never amounted to much. It's human nature to want to belong. It's much easier to have an external locus of control. Add in the internet that links these lazy losers together you get the alt-right.

[–]ApollosCrow 30 ポイント31 ポイント32 ポイント 10日前 (2子コメント)
This is a major problem that the internet hasn't caught up with yet.
These days, racism and prejudice aren't about nasty slurs and attacks, which would be easy to report and ban. Instead it's these moderated, pseudo-intellectual arguments that are like a Trojan horse for their bullshit xenophobic ideas. It's much more insidious, and attracts a lot more of an audience. Throw in some selective factoids and some rightwing nationalist theory, and they can almost seem like educated people with any kind of valid point.
But they aren't.
They are the same asshole redneck bigots that always fall into this hateful ideology. They just bought a thesaurus and learned how to internet.
I think it is the responsibility of websites, which are private companies with the ability to control content, to suppress this growing plague. I'm tired of these undemocratic, anti-human losers hiding behind "free speech", avoiding consequences and demanding attention. Rhetoric that threatens the life, liberty, or security of other people in a shared public space needs to be shut down. Society is built upon shared values. We need to remember what those values are and start enforcing them more diligently.
[–]Vyzantinist 6 ポイント7 ポイント8 ポイント 10日前 (0子コメント)

They are also delusional in thinking that they have support from a lot of different places when they actually don't. If the twats understood any German they would know that 99% of the bands are fully against national-socialism or fascism and that none of us want those pricks in the scene.

An external locus of control is placing responsibility for the events of your life primarily outside of yourself.
You think of things happening to you, not things which you are responsible for.

The real estate agent, Tanya Gersh, denies the claim. On Dec. 16, Anglin asked his readers to start a “troll storm” against Gersh and posted her address and phone number as well the Twitter account belonging to Gersh’s 12-year-old son, whom Anglin referred to using a derogatory word for Jewish people. “You can also leave a review of her business on Google, and perhaps note that it is [a] front for an extortion racket,” Anglin wrote in the first of many posts about Gersh

These White Nationalists are the losers of their own racial group. Almost every type of group has these types of losers who think that somehow if everyone was just like them, things would be better. They do not realize if they got their wish and were only around people like them, they would still be at the bottom, only now they will not have people who are different from them to blame when things inevitably go wrong.

No, they don't want everyone to be just like them, they want the system rigged so that people like them "win" instead of "lose."
That's why it's all about the white identity politics - in their fantasy Fascist remake of America they'll have an artificial status granted to them by their race and their politics much like many previous unaccomplished men gained status by becoming early Nazis.

The real estate agent and political activist attempted to extort money from this Nazi's mom, leveraging her son's identity as a Nazi. In response, the Nazi invited his readers to:
Just make your opinions known. Tell them you are sickened by their Jew agenda to attack and harm the mother of someone whom they disagree with. Again – as always – don’t make any threats of violence and certainly don’t do anything violent. Don’t ever do anything illegal, ever. It is well within your rights to tell these people what you think of their actions, trying to extort Richard Spencer’s family.
This obviously is not covered under threats.
[–]McSchwartz 21 ポイント22 ポイント23 ポイント 10日前 (7子コメント)
He is not stupid enough to post an obvious incitement to violence, as he knew that was illegal. He knew what he was doing was a "troll storm", something they've done before and knew would result in large numbers of actual death threats getting sent. It had the intended effect:
The bulk of the messages were sent from email addresses bearing user names like Satan@666death.com and youf***ingkike@hotmail.com, and arrived replete with threats of death, violence and slurs against the Gersh family’s Jewish faith.
http://flatheadbeacon.com/2017/04/25/target-troll-storm-sues-shut-neo-nazi-website/
Furthermore
The lawsuit contends that Anglin coordinated the campaign of harassment by posting contact information for Tanya Gersh, her husband and the couple’s 12-year-old son, calling on his readers to drum up an “old fashioned Troll storm.” “And hey — if you’re in the area, maybe you should stop by and tell her in person what you think of her actions,” Anglin’s initial post reads. The lawsuit before U.S. District Judge Dana Christensen alleges invasion of privacy, the infliction of intentional emotional distress and violations of the Montana Anti-Intimidation Act, and attorneys say the incredible volume of abusive electronic messages demonstrates that Anglin “sought to maximize the troll storm’s terrorizing effect” on the Gersh family.

Only obvious incitements to violence will pass constitutional muster. In the court case this is based on, the guy actually promoted the killing of government officials in general, and that was considered protected speech. Even if the SPLC wins this, it will be thrown out on appeal, and they know it. The goal here is to abuse the court system in order to bankrupt the Nazis.
This is no different than when the liberals get all worked up at a conservative and get nasty.
[–]McSchwartz 11 ポイント12 ポイント13 ポイント 10日前* (3子コメント)
The cases are different. Brandenburg v. Ohio right? This cases uses different laws. Read the actual lawsuit:
https://www.splcenter.org/sites/default/files/whitefish_complaint_finalstamped.pdf
They're suing for "invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of Montana’s Anti-Intimidation Act".
According to the previous article I posted, legal experts weighed in, and they said that the plaintiffs have to "show that what Anglin did was extreme and outrageous, and that he knew the consequences, and that his actions resulted in actual harm and suffering", and that he "intended the troll storm as a true threat" and finally "whether he is protected under the Communications Decency Act of 1996."
EDIT:
It makes a difference whether or not you're targeting a large group generally or you're naming individuals.
Unlike some First Amendment cases in which the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that defendants’ speech was protected — such as the case of a group of Westboro Baptist Church picketers who demonstrated outside of the military funeral of Matthew Snyder, the son of a gay man — the Daily Stormer’s troll storm directly targeted the Gersh family.

My name is Sherry Spencer, and I am Richard Spencer’s mom. I’m a resident of Whitefish, Montana, and am the proud owner of a beautiful mixed-use facility in town. It was years ago now that I first broke ground on the building, which features vacation-rental apartments and office spaces. I hired a local architect and builder to bring my ideas to life — and both exceeded my expectations. I am the sole owner of the facility. It was built, not just with my capital, but with my ideas and sensibility. The apartments even include my original artwork, and the rooftop garden features my ceramic mural, which celebrates the Whitefish Winter Carnival. In other words, I poured my heart and soul into this project. The building opened in late 2015, and received wide acclaim from the local press. And the vacation apartments have been enjoyed by people from around the world. Richard does not own the building, nor has he ever used it for his writing or publishing. Put simply, the building has nothing to do with politics — and it has everything to do with tourism and local businesses. I had no intention of selling . . . until I started receiving terrible threats in the last couple of weeks. These threats came from Tanya Gersh, a local realtor with links to “human rights” organizations Love Lives Here and the Montana Human Rights Network. On November 22, Gersh and I spoke on the phone. She relayed to me that if I did not sell my building, 200 protesters and national media would show up outside — which would drive down the property value — until I complied. Gersh’s other conditions included that I make a public denunciation of my son in a statement written by the Montana Human Rights Network and that I make a donation to this organization from the sale of the property. As Gersh announced on Facebook, she was “spear heading” the campaign. Gersh followed up on her conditions in a number of emails, which I’ve just made public. She even shamelessly suggested that she act as my realtor! In other words, she and the local “human rights” organizations appeared to seek financial benefit from threats of protests and reputation damage. The same day Gersh first contacted me, I received a sales offer, even though I had not expressed any intention to sell, nor had anything been publicized. Whatever you think about my son’s ideas — they are, after all, ideas — in what moral universe is it right for the “sins” of the son to be visited upon the mother?

In those e-mails Tanya Gersh literally provided Sherry Spencer with a pre-written letter, written in her voice, denouncing her own son.
What Sherry Spencer chose to actually write was this Medium article.
It seems exceedingly unlikely that Sherry Spencer called Tanya Gersh to arrange the sale of her building to denounce her son, then did a complete 180 and wrote a scathing and dishonest medium piece. What possible motivation could she have to do that?
The exceedingly likely scenario is that things happened the way Sherry Spencer said they did.
