I'm tired of getting pokemon homepasses from all the homepass cyclers and it seems like the old MH3U dedicated homepass only have mh3u players or just very old cyclers.
Since we got a great community here, lets create our own MAC addresses to cycle. Before I get to that, I want to set some rules before you enable these MACs as homepass. If you don't meet these requirements, please use regular homepass until you meet them:
1) Must have MH4U streetpass enabled
2) Be HR2 or higher
3) Share a Guild Quest and a Palico
Here are the proposed MACs and corresponding ASCII:
40:4D:48:34:55:21 - "@MH4U!" (Prime)
22:4D:48:34:55:21 - "'"MH4U!"
24:4D:48:34:55:21 - "$MH4U!"
26:4D:48:34:55:21 - "&MH4U!"
28:4D:48:34:55:21 - "(MH4U!"
2A:4D:48:34:55:21 - "*MH4U!"
2C:4D:48:34:55:21 - ",MH4U!"
2E:4D:48:34:55:21 - ".MH4U!"
3A:4D:48:34:55:21 - ":MH4U!"
3C:4D:48:34:55:21 - "<MH4U!"
3E:4D:48:34:55:21 - ">MH4U!"
Prime is for those who just wants to set it up once and be done. The rest is for those who wants to cycle between different MACs to get more streetpasses. You are welcome to add these to MAC cyclers along with other MACs as long as you meet the three rules above.
Also, I am using Mcdonald's "NZ@MCD" as my SSID. Not sure if it makes a difference as to not allow me to get your streetpass if you used "attwifi". I'm using it because it activates Nintendo Zone and lets you use the internet. It also sounds scarier for random people to want to join. And my hate for at&t is greater than Mcdonalds.
For those who do not know what homepass is:
Nintendo set up a thing called Streetpass Relay where if you connect to a designated hotspot, you will get streetpasses for the last 6 people who passed by that hotspot. Nintendo identifies these designated hotspots by seeing the SSID and MAC address of the hotspot.
As long as Nintendo sees that the SSID is something like "attwifi" or "NZ@MCD" it will log the MAC address on their server, store streetpass data to be passed on to the next person passing, and give you the streetpass data for the last 6 people.
The community decided to create a generic hotspot of their own and used "4E:53:50:4F:4F:46" as the prime MAC address. This spells out "NSPOOF".
So anyone who sets up their wifi hosting as this MAC address is considered to be the same location by Nintendo, and as long as your SSID is "attwifi" or "NZ@MCD", it will give you streetpasses.
More info and setup guides here.
Ignore the part where it suggests for MH4U at 4E:53:50:4F:4F:46. The whole reason I wrote this up is because that is part of the Prime MACs and get too many people overwriting old any MH4U players.
Major Edit - didn't realize that the 2nd letter in the MAC must be even - therefore cannot start with "M" - changed it - sorry about that
Added more - so it goes nearly sequentially from 22 and skipping 30 to 38 to spell out ACE twice.
22 - 24 - 26 - 28 - 2A - 2C - 2E - 3A - 3C - 3E - 40
Sorry for all the edits - should have completed my setup before I posted.
