                    I once read an article about these office mates that built and intricate series of tubes at their cubes and had 3 ant colonies dyed 3 colors and watched as they expanded their colonies and eventually met and fought. They even had suicide bomber exploding ants. It was one of the most fascinating reads with pics ive ever read and i have never been able to find it again. Posting here for visibility. Anybody remember this?

                    hate to be "that guy" but the whole thing was likely made up, if you put in three colonies with 100 ants each they'd discover eachother in a half hour most likely and a half day at the very latest, the resulting ant war (this is actually what it's called by ant scientists and ant keepers) would take a few hours. Depending on the species the most likely result would be one colony still alive but damaged to the point of non-viability by the time you left for the day.
