r/RedditLaqueristas makes me want to paint my nails and then rub one out.

If this is against sub rules, I understand and will remove it. Just wanted to vent and rant and I'm not sure where to do so. It's incredibly aggravating the weirdly vicious hate reddit has for long nails, shapes outside the square or squoval and god forbid there is a post showing long nails with unicorn, dark or "frilly" colours in the gif/video/picture.

Right away it's an echochamber of "gross ghetto nails", "how do they do anything with those nasty nails", "why do women wear such gross colours", "men don't like them" etc.

Even when people in the comments try to explain why it makes them happy, or how they go through a day with long nails, it's always followed by, "yes well they ugly and I hate it when women wear them".

I don't know why expected any different tbh. I guess it's too much to ask not to shit on people and their hobbies/likes.

I know I can walk away, but it gets to me because people need to know and understand that just because you don't like nail hobbies, you have no right to shoot it down as gross woman stuff.

Edit: I didn't write this to bad-mouth men as I know how the post sounds. Those were just the comments we received after we mentioned we wear our nails that way in support of someone who got a bunch of hate.

Well it really depends I would say. There are some outlandishly long and colourful nails that are known for being more ghettoish than normal. It's an issue of going extreme. For instance, tattoos can be sexy, but a tattoo to the face is a bit messed up. Now, I'm not saying all long nails are like that, I have seen many that are well manicured, clean, colourful and pretty.

Perhaps, you can post a pic of your... Nails?
