I was walking out of a convenient store yesterday and there was a woman coming in as I was walking out. I like to engage people, open doors, maybe let them jump me in line if they have less items, stuff like that. Nothing extraordinarily generous, but just things you might consider nice gestures.

Yesterday, I got to thinking about holding this door open for the woman. I did it, but it was very reluctantly. It's not because I have this irrational hate for women, but rather because so many women now rightfully believe that any man doing any kind of polite gesture is trying to get laid. This is because most men doing those things are trying to get laid. So when I hold the door open, I know she is thinking that I'm just another dude trying to get in her pants. In reality, I hope the extent of my interactions with her are very limited, I'm really just trying to be civilized.

White knights are all about opening doors and catering to these women at every step, but at the end of the day, their end-game is to try to gain favor and ultimately get laid. Women know this, and so any guy performing any kind of nice gesture towards a woman is lumped with those pathetic guys.

White knights have ruined a simple nice gesture among strangers by abusing those gestures for their own sexual benefit (and failing).
