Between $5-10 is definitely fair. I priced on the high end to be able to accept offers of as low as $12 a bag.

Must depend on the market, in my market Lego sits for a very long time at anything more than like $6/lb. I could probably buy as much as I wanted at $4-5 and I generally don't buy unless it's $3 or has plenty of sets. More power to you if you can get it though - not criticizing.

Had a good experience as a buyer on LetGo. My experience is that most people as sellers are decent people and will knock off with stupid behaviour.

I was purchasing an Anova Precision Cooker (eg. a sous vide circulator). Got lost a couple of times thanks to not liking our transit system. Turns out the guy's a chef and he knocked off $10 off the price and gave me cash for the transit ride back home. He also gave me a ride back to the subway system.

As a seller? This system makes me weep for humanity. Too many flakes/assholes.

There's a lot of people in this thread saying move on. Personally, I hate getting low balled on stuff and I understand where you are coming from. And, I thought it was funny that you increased your counter offer to a higher price than the original ask. To me it was a good reply as far as entertainment goes. However, not good business.

When you're selling things online, try to be constructive with your response. Say something like, "$18.00 is way too low for what I'm selling, the best I could do is $42.00."

You want to build the emotion in the other person that what they offered was just outrageous(and it was) and that they need to come up in price. That way, they're still playing the game with you. You don't have to sell for anything you don't feel comfortable with so just enjoy the game, have fun, and carry on. You're doing great, and you can do better, keep it up!

My point was at the other person that was saying the seller was being an asshole for counter offering more, when in reality the seller is just being equally snarky in return to the buyers lowball offer (though I would argue the seller is being far less compared to this example of such a lowball offer)

There's a huge difference in the average seller and a flipper though. Most people on offerup and similar are just trying to get rid of shit, and might take an offer like that. Also, you're both essentially the same: you're trying to make money on your item and he's trying to save probably as much as you're making.

    Lowball offers is annoying but that's to be expected. I kind of enjoy it when someone lowballs me then I sell it soon after to someone else for full price. Yesterday I got an offer of $20 on something I was asking $110 (average sold price $150)...a few hrs later I sold it for $100. I then e-mail that person and let them know it sold for $100 so they are bummed they missed out their plan to buy and flip for profit.
