Remember when everyone thought tablets would replace PCs, at least for average consumers? Yeah, that didn't happen. In fact, the opposite is happening. In a report from the International Data Corporation (IDC), worldwide tablet shipments in Q1 2017 have dropped 8.5% compared to Q1 2016, with just 36.2 million devices shipped.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 review: A good tablet with a bad price
It has now been more than six years since the first "real" Android tablets were let loose upon the world. Those Honeycomb slates are now a distant memory, but have tablets really changed that much? App support is still lacking, pricing is high compared to laptops, and distinctive features are few and far between. Despite some compelling devices over the years, sales of Android tablets (and tablets in general) are down. This is the backdrop for Samsung's release of the Galaxy Tab S3, the latest in the OEM's premium tablet lineup.
With a price tag of $599, the Samsung Tab S3 is priced to compete with the iPad Pro.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 details leak ahead of expected MWC unveiling [Update]
There's a dearth of high-end Android tablets on the market, mostly because people don't buy many of them anymore. If anyone can move a tablet, though, it's Samsung. The Galaxy Tab S2 was launched in late 2015, and now it looks like the Tab S3 is headed for MWC. A new leak lays out the specs for the device, as well as an alleged (very high) price tag in Korea.

Adobe's current Android strategy seems to be publishing as many small, single-purpose tools as possible to augment the workflow of artists and designers using its main Creative Cloud programs on a desktop computer. Capture CC is a tool for adding things like custom colors, brushes, shapes, and other Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign assets via a mobile camera. The Android app launched in October of 2015, and apparently Adobe didn't think anyone with an Android tablet really needed that functionality until now.

Sprint has been trying to stop the slow bleed of customers moving to other carriers with some attractive deals, including an "unlimited" plan aimed squarely at T-Mobile. Now, Sprint has an "unlimited" tablet plan. I'm using quotation marks here because calling them unlimited doesn't get the point across. The new plan has unlimited data, but the speeds are throttled. But hey, it's only $20 per month.

Google is hyping up its October 4th event for the new Pixel phone unveiling, but there may be a crazy #onemorething happening too. As we reported earlier today, Google is working on a new Android-based OS codenamed Andromeda that integrates some features from Chrome OS, making it more suitable for use on a laptop-like device. This might be previewed at the event. Now, 9to5Google reports that Google's first Andromeda device will be that long-rumored 7-inch Huawei-built "Nexus" tablet.
