Something odd is going on with comments the /r/news thread about this morning's shooting in VA[META] (self.undelete)

despite the fact that there are thousands of comments, it's only showing comments from about half hour ago. They are mass censoring everything. If this is not a spitting example of the toxicity that has swept over many main subs to limit and curb and tailor discussion, I don't know what is.

Just noticed the same things. There's the expected mass deletions, but nothing new in the last 40 minutes despite appearing to accept posts is some new fuckery I haven't seen going on. There any place out there to get people's actual views, no matter how non-PC about this?
