Chapter 5, 39 and 62 of the Neijing Suwen is what you need to study. But these things are not Chinese Medicine my friend.

And also, The Seven Emotions, by Claude Larre and Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée, which just arrived in the mail moments ago.

Quoting off the back of the book:

[T]his book presents a close study of the energetics of the emotions. Examining the classical texts, particularly the Neijing Suwen and Lingshu, each of the seven emotions is discussed in detail, showing how the internal organs are implicated in each display of feeling, and how health and disease manifest themselves in emotion.

Buddy, no one here is buying your made up BS, just like the people on the kung-fu board thinks your nuts.

You just don't understand Chinese medicine and its principles at all. We think Thoth and Alister Crowley are full of it. I think the /r/occult/ sub is a better fit for you.

Upvotes shmupvotes, you're feedback was some of the most helpful I got, 'cause you're combativeness got me questioning my own self-assuredness and restoring some rational humility to my ego-inflated brain.

My Five Elements theory was kind of bullshit.

    But so is TCM's. :o

Actually I owe you an apology. Sometimes my inbox gets overwhelmed with comment replies and some get lost in the shuffle. I actually just saw the comment where you tried to engage me in reasonable discussion about The Web... and now I've lost it again. Anyway sorry if I was overly dismissive, you seem reasonable enough even though I really don't agree with any of five elements theory at all, it just seems like more arcane numerology to me. I'll also say that you did come off as a bit disrespectful when we first engaged, I'm sure you think your months of study of Chinese medicine is valuable but using that as a basis to dismiss others who spent years in TCM graduate school, which can frankly be a bit of a hellish ordeal, well frankly that's not really a good look for you. But anyway respect and sorry I was kind of a dick there.

Here's that question about the web.

Thanks for the apology, and I'm sorry for being just as rude myself. I paid a lot of money for a useless degree too, and I feel for you there. Over the years I've learned that, the more you pay for something, the more bullshit you get.

PS: Your time in school might not have been wasted, though. In my months spent experimenting on myself, I've discovered a Four Phase theory that aligns perfectly with Aristotle's, and works pretty well in treating the various ailments that afflict me in my daily life. Perhaps knowledge of TCM will help you in your own health too.

Surely the relationship of emotion and disease is Chinese medicine!? Please smash the fog and explain why you feel emotion is not a part of Chinese medicine. (My eastern doctors clearly state effect of emo on symptoms.). Thank you and peace

This sub gives the most rational and useful feedback tho!

And now a sickness waffle to go with it:

    Fire/Wands Water/Cups Earth/Disks Air/Swords
pulsed hair, yellow mucus nose, clear mucus anus, poop and farts ears, wax free
sustained genitals, ejaculate mouth, saliva and vomit pores, pus bladder, urine trapped
low voice exhale growl high voice

What can't be emoted builds up in the bodily fluids and causes sickness.

Please stop posting this in Chinese Medicine. It has nothing to do with. It just looks silly, I've given you chapters to read and you obviously haven't otherwise you wouldn't be posting this tripe.

Lol that table is kind of tripe, thanks for the criticism. The emotion table isn't, though. It matches perfectly with the four Greek elements.

Now since this is /r/ChineseMedicine, where people say there are five elements, I can see how this might not go down well... but let me ask you... which theory generated more Tarot decks, hmm? Find me a Tarot deck with five elements and maybe I'll start taking the five element theory seriously.

This is medicine. Not tarot. If you can't take five element theory seriously then you shouldn't be in a Chinese medicine reddit. The problem is, medicine is practical, all your stuff is just theoretical. How do you treat what you are describing? What herbs do you use? What acupuncture points do you use? What organs do they relate to? Simply coming up with a table that does not have therapeutic value is pointless.

I'm still trying to figure out most of that stuff.

How does one find the acupuncture points?

I recently have come up with a table that has real medical value, though. I haven't published it yet because it is still experimental and I want to get it right when I post it, unlike this tripe here.

I post questions to this subreddit because Chinese Medicine works better than anything else. However, I'm not going to believe anything unless I can get it working in my own practice.

You need to trust the great clinicians that came before you. How do you know your table has real medical value unless you have used it?

You need to read more Chinese medicine instead of coming up with your ideas that are not related to Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine is a system, already made, you are trying to make your own system. They are not compatible.

I have used it to cure illnesses.

Do you have a good resource for learning the Five Phase theory? Maybe it works too, but for my own body, my system is the only system that I've had any success with.

Maybe look at the Five Elements by Elizabeth Rochat de la Valle.

I recognize that name... Ah! She co-wrote the book I have called The Seven Emotions (though there are actually eight, if you read carefully). I will need to get that book, thanks!

Earth+sustained->rage is related to liver illness according to my eastern doctor (he said chronic anger was a sign of a sluggish liver). Then I see your table which implies "unexpressed rage" builds up in pores/pus. Well, this seems like zits to me or other skin outbreak. Thus it doesn't seem like a clean comparison to what little Chinese medicine I know. I'd like to see how your body-fluid table relates to the organs, and emotions, , and why? (E.g. what rationale leads you to arrange sickness table the way you did.)

Wouldn't liver illness manifest in pimples though?

That's what I'm asking. Would it?
