‘Classic innocent guy move’: Internet roasts Trump over report he wants to fire Mueller

The internet was aghast after Newsmax CEO and longtime Donald Trump confidante Chris Ruddy on Monday told PBS Newshour’s July Woodruff the president is “considering perhaps terminating” Robert Mueller as special counsel in the Russia investigation.
April Ryan of CNN Monday described “mass hysteria” in the White House over concerns the president is considering terminating special counsel Robert Mueller, who was appointed by Deputy Attorney Rod Rosenstein to oversee the Russia investigation.
The internet has been shocked by the rumors that President Trump would fire the special counsel investigating the Trump campaign and White House for collusion with the Kremlin and possible obstruction of justice for the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

Ruddy was cautioning Trump against firing Mueller earlier Monday too. Seems to be a real concern to him. https://t.co/jIUfliyeo8 pic.twitter.com/4LVXIJwVvD

If Trump were to actually fire Bob Mueller, Paul Ryan would have to dig so deep for new synonyms of “troubling.”

Sitting on the PBS NewsHour set when Judy was interviewing Chris Ruddy, I was stunned when Ruddy said Trump was considering firing Mueller.

Are congressional Repubs OK with Trump firing Mueller? Would there be any consequences? Now is the time to start getting them on record.
— McKay Coppins (@mckaycoppins) June 12, 2017
POTUS doesn’t have the power to fire Mueller himself but if he tries it’s a tacit admission of guilt and should lead to eventual impeachment

The question is not whether Trump fires Mueller, it’s how many people at DOJ will resign or be fired before Trump finds someone to do it

Trump ally Sean Hannity was calling for Mueller’s removal this afternoon, saying his investigation is a “clear and present danger.”

Trump clearly believes he cannot survive the Mueller investigation

Reminder: @SenKamalaHarris asked DAG Rosenstein to commit to Mueller’s full independence –so *45 couldn’t fire him.pic.twitter.com/ia8OZgpZV6
