W: WOLPERTINGER
Origin: Bavaria
A wolpertinger is any combination of animal parts – typically wings, antlers, fangs, and tails – attached to a small mammal’s body. Similar to a jackalope, the origin of the creature is most likely within the realm of imagination of a taxidermist, but they still come with their own folklore. Supposedly they are shy animals and extremely difficult to catch, feeding on small animals, herbs, and roots.
