Southerner looking to learn Norwegian. (self.norsk)

Hi!
I would love something web based or app based so I can learn on the go.
What would you fine fellows recommend?

Most people are southerners compared to Norway.
Seriously though, I got pretty confused by the title. At first I thought you were from Southern Norway, and then you say you want to learn Norwegian?

OP means Southern United States. Generally, the South includes the Carolinas down to Florida and west to Texas (though Texas is Texas, and not really "the South".)

Hey! We consider ourselves incredibly Southern. A man is a Texan first, a Southerner next, an American last, and a Yankee never.

Haha, well, okay. I've been told explicitly that Texas is Texas, and not Southern, which is what I considered them until I was told otherwise.

It's a fair thing to say - mostly depends on who you talk to. Texas is very much a country within a country, so we do have a lot of pride in that respect, but we tend to associate with the South because we're close, we talk about the same, and we share a lot of culture. We just happen to have gone through a phase of independence that's unique to us. Plus, obviously, whataburger and sweet tea and all that.

I apologize for indulging in our culture. Nobody cares when we talk about the war for independence, but suddenly Texans are assholes for wanting to be a part of our own unique sequence of events. We grow up proud to be from where we're from - why does that make us pretentious assholes?

I would recommend Memrise for vocabulary, and Lang-8 for practice. Both are good to start using right away when learning any language. Other than that, there are some good links in the sidebar -->

And in Memrise, do this course. I built most of it, so I'm biased, but it really is the best Norwegian Course in Memrise.

Norwegian on the web is probably the best in the sidebare, skål to another southerner!
