About this project
Pinoscope is a wearable smartphone holder that makes smartphones more convenient and freer to use by giving your hands freedom.
With its simple and sophisticated design, Pinoscope will be a great tool for every smartphone users.
Pinoscope is a word derived from 'Pinocchio' and 'telescope' as it can extend and shorten its nose (extension pole) just like Pinocchio's 'growing nose' and telescope which is the core function of the Pinoscope.
Simply insert your smartphone into the mount, then you are ready for a whole new experience.
You can use it while you are standing, sitting, work out, having a meal.
Pinoscope also becomes a perfect desk stand, compatible with majority of smartphones.
You can watch movies, read, internet browsing, video call, and etc.
There are just so many different ways of using the Pinoscope depending on your circumstances.
With Pinoscope, you can enjoy the perfect freedom of your two hands!
Pinoscope consists of 6 components, each part does its work.
I searched for well-designed products for the same purpose, but none of them satisfied me 100%.
The existing wearable smartphone mounts are generally designed to hang around the neck which seemed a little burdensome to me.
Based on my own experience, the part that gets the most physical fatigue in addition to hands while using the smartphone was the neck.
I realized supporting the smartphone in the form of hanging on the neck may cause more pain.
I wanted a unique and different product that would satisfy every user without hurting their neck or other parts of the body.
So I came up with a plan of applying the function of backpack and selfie stick.
By combining the backpack’s shoulder strap and the stainless pole from the selfie stick, I was able to create a whole new level of wearable smartphone holder that actually works on me.
When you are in the subway
While waiting for a bus
For a business conference call
When you make video calls with your loved ones
When you capture the beautiful travel photos
When you're having a sandwich or a hamburger outdoors but still need to use the phone simultaneously
While having a meal on the table at your favourite restaurant
& etc.
The lists are endless!!
Pinoscope's chest harness is designed to comfortably fit most adults and teens.
Adjust the harness to match the length that best suits you.

The advantage of the Pinoscope is that it minimizes the fatigue of the neck by raising the wrong angle of the smartphone we use to the right position.
Try to feel how your neck and shoulders are aligned when you are looking at the phone.
The condition and pain in the neck due to chronic overuse of smartphones is called text neck.
When you bend your head downwards to play with your phone, you are giving more weight on your ‘already burdensome’ neck.
Your muscles will have to work far beyond of their range and harder.
Just imagine having to stand the entire day on one leg.
This is something that your muscles do through working at their maximum capacity throughout while you are awake to keep your head from falling off.
These muscles working at the end of capacity will actually result in spasms and chronic neck pain and deformities eventually.
Pinoscope will help you to have the screen close to your proper eye level so your neck angle can be adjusted to 15-degree or less.
The research says that average smartphone users bend their necks 45-degree angle which is almost 49 pounds weight on the cervical spine.
The size of smartphones is getting bigger and bigger with various functions.
The larger phones like Samsung Note series, iPhone plus models and the likes can cause the thumb and fingers to work at their end ranges, overstretched and at mechanical insufficiency.
This is not just when you use the keypad, also when you are holding the phone that doesn’t fit the palm.
With Pinoscope, you get to use your whole fingers freely to operate the phone without hurting your joint.
Measurement
360-degrees adjustable holder that works on most smartphones
The mount(holder) can cover the ranges between 56mm to 93mm. (Samsung Galaxy note Series (over 6 inches) & iPhones (over 3.5 inches))
It can be adjusted up and down, and at a convenient angle that matches the eye level of the user when mounted.

The two brothers, who once wanted to be professional musicians, now live in their respective positions. Like others, we love cars and dream of freedom.
Tommy recently released his first piano single album all composed by himself. He also enjoys assembling the Gundam models and very interested in action figures and robots.
Steven plays drums and guitars professionally. He dreams of one day fishing with his own little boat. He is a great member of Blue Leopard through his good character and the ability to focus on one thing.
Together, we envisioned Pinoscope and constantly visited Korea and Australia to actually make it happen. We hope to do more wonderful things together in the future.
I spend a lot of time on buses and trains because of the work and smartphone is a very useful tool every time I commute.
When I use the smartphone, I felt the tiredness of my hands and neck so often, therefore I started to think seriously about the way using the smartphone and this was the beginning of the Pinoscope.
For the past 7 months, I’ve worked through countless prototypes and sketches to bring the most comfortable and proper design.
I started from cutting the rough plastics materials with a Swiss army knife all the way to professional designers to come up with 3D-models and technical drawings that are ready for mass manufacturing.
Blue Leopard needs your help and support to make Pinoscope which is our first product a reality!
We have completed our product design and nearly finalized the overall structure. What we need now is the capital to produce Pinoscope at a large scale.
We are already in contact with manufacturers and distributors from potential companies throughout South Korea and China.
As you may aware already, the initial cost of production such as mold is very expensive, so that’s where we invite you to come.

Risks and challenges
The design work is nearly finalized, it may require a few simple modifications to improve its quality and looks.
We worked closely with our design partners during the prototyping stage.
After thorough communication with the manufacturers, we do not expect major risks once we start mass production, however, we do not have a full control of production process, and therefore we will keep update you every process of the work.
