Trump endorses Le Pen: She loses by 32 points. Trump cozies up to May: She blows a 25-point lead and maybe loses the leadership.

This is partly my point. I'm inclined to be cautious linking this too strongly to Trump. I'd imagine there are other, more proximate factors
