Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to call it the 4829th day of the millenium. It gives it more flair.

That makes it easier to keep track of because you don't have to reset the count each year, but it makes it harder to work out the prime factorisation each day. On the plus side, it would make Januaries a heck of a lot less boring.
