I work for a vat corp, and I'm writing because I just finished a mammoth shift at the Aurora Heights facility (yes, Aurora Heights that-vatcorp-that-got-bombed) and I want to give a message to your readership, specifically the militant ones, but I doubt they'll hear me from all the way in Biomedical Engineering Tumblr.(1/3)
This isn’t helping. At all. I’d post videos of seven-year-olds screaming while they bleed out all night if it didn’t violate confidentiality. I suppose the point is to make it harder for us, so good job, you made my life hell. The people who work for vat corps are not vicious monsters who eat babies and feast on the blood of innocents. We’re regular people, many of whom are sympathetic to clone rights. Killing us isn’t going to free the clones.(2/3)
Do you want us to quit just to keep our hands clean? We’d just be replaced by other people with the exact same qualifications, but fewer scruples. Right here and now, the welfare of clones in vat corps is decided entirely by how sympathetic the staff is. If I went off to work for a pacemaker manufacturer, then I’m giving up any power I have to alleviate suffering just to keep my hands metaphorically clean. (3/3)
What a million protests about the excruciating pain of unanesthetized surgery can’t do, I can when I put on my Serious Medical Face and explain that the potential dangers of paralytics are under-explored, and full anaesthesia is the safest route. Anyway, that ran a little long, but please, enough with the violence. I lost a friend yesterday. (4/3)
Do you expect me to be impressed that you steal kidneys only humanely and don’t actually ingest anything you take? I didn’t bomb your corp, personally, but I bet you wouldn’t trade with any of the surviving clones for all the full anaesthetic in the world.
