Study of possible correlation between DEPRESSION and XOLAIR
Accompanying discussion about FactMed users Questions and Concerns
About this FactMed analysis covering adverse side effect reports of XOLAIR patients who developed DEPRESSION.
FactMed provides MD-approved analysis to help both patients, researchers, and physicians accurately assess the risk profile for more than 20,000 different pharmaceutical products. The below report offers compiled information from Food & Drug Administration and FactMed user submissions. Between January 2004 and October 2012, 89 individuals taking XOLAIR reported DEPRESSION to the FDA. A total of 14090 XOLAIR drug adverse event reaction reports were made with the FDA during this time period. Often the FDA only receives reports of the most critical and severe cases; these numbers may therefore underrepresent the complication rate of the medication.FDA Research Report
Introduction This page is designed to help you determine the relationship, if any, between XOLAIR and DEPRESSION. In doing so, we compare XOLAIR with other drugs that cause DEPRESSION, to help you evaluate whether or not XOLAIR causes DEPRESSION. Likewise, this page shows the most highly-reported side effects of XOLAIR, so you can see if DEPRESSION ranks among XOLAIR's most well-known side effects.
Summary StatisticsReports of XOLAIR causing DEPRESSION: 89
Reports of any side effect of XOLAIR : 14090
Percentage of XOLAIR patients where DEPRESSION is a reported side effect: 0.6317%
FDA reports of any drug causing DEPRESSION : 98155

CONCERN NEUROPATHY PERIPHERAL | I developed tender and painful feet starting shortly after starting xolair injections three years ago. My doctor sent me to podiatrist who convinced me I had high arches causing my pain. I wore my insoles with no relief and finally a diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy after three years of agony. After all this time I asked my lung doctor to reduce my dose and am already feeling better after four reduced dose bi weekly injections. Turns out I was on too high a dose for body weight and IGA. Xolair can cause neuropathy, patients and doctors I have no doubt about this. | 2015-02-21 23:16:02 |

QUESTION GROWTH HORMONE DEFICIENCY | My allergist keeps pushing me to take xolair. I have extreme concerns over the connection to growth hormone deficiency and xolair. I already have growth hormone deficiency with adrenal insufficiency and I really need to know the stats on why there is so much risk to heart attacks, strokes, thrombosis. I already know that there is a strong link to growth hormone deficiency and the heart attack/stroke risk. I take daily injections. I want to know what effect this could have on me. Someone who already has growth hormone deficiency with adrenal insufficiency, and to add xolair into the mix, am I signing my own death certificate here? I need real answers and all answers are welcome. | 2016-03-25 18:47:39 |
