  • Minimizes help desk visits with Smart Upgrade technology, performing upgrades of IBM Notes® from a central location. Users can recover passwords through the Notes ID vault.

Minimized infrastructure

  • Reduce required disk usage and network input/output using advanced compression features for applications containing documents that include rich text and graphics images, and those containing lengthy documents.

Security-rich

  • Public key infrastructure authenticates IBM Notes users and servers, verifies digital signatures and encrypts messages and applications, including individual fields within applications.
  • Uses Internet certificates based on the x.509 certificate format.
  • Helps you work with government agencies that require products that conform to the FIPS 140-2 standard.
  • Controlled by access control lists. You can specify an access level, access level privileges, a user type and one or more roles.

High availability

  • Clustering technology allows you to tie multiple IBM Domino servers together to create a seamless experience to a highly available, high-performance messaging or application environment.

IBM Domino Messaging Server

  • Combines full support for the latest Internet mail standards with IBM Domino messaging, calendar and scheduling, discussion database and reference database capabilities.
  • Includes support for IBM Domino partitioning, allowing you to run more than one instance of IBM Domino on the same machine using one copy of the Domino code.
  • Provides client and server licensing. You can acquire licenses by the total processor value units associated with your server machine(s) plus individual IBM Notes® Client access licenses for each user.

IBM Domino Enterprise Server

  • Provides all the functions of the IBM Domino Messaging Server, plus support for custom intranet and Internet applications.
  • Supports applications developed in house using IBM Domino Designer or acquired from an Independent Software Vendor.
  • Includes support for IBM Domino clustering, which allows data to be replicated in real time across a cluster of servers. This capability lets you balance server loads and take advantage of automatic failover when a server is unavailable.
  • Provides client and server licensing. You can acquire licenses by the total processor value units associated with your server machine(s) plus individual IBM Notes Client access licenses for each user.

IBM Domino Utility Server

  • If you would like to make collaborative applications available to users inside and outside your company, and do not need mail and calendar, IBM Domino Utility Server might be the most cost-effective option for you.
  • This IBM Domino processor value unit (PVU) license option extends access to non-mail applications from a web browser.
  • The required number of IBM Domino server licenses is equal to the total number of processor value units associated with the physically available and active capacity of the machine(s) on which the software is installed.
  • Client access licenses are not required for web browser access to non-mail IBM Domino applications.
  • Access from an IBM Notes client is allowed. However, the IBM Domino Enterprise Client access license must be acquired separately for access to IBM Domino applications using the IBM Notes client software, regardless of whether the access is authenticated or anonymous.

Licensees of select IBM Notes and Domino software offerings with Software Subscription and Support may be eligible for additional entitlements at no additional charge.
