DETROIT — Detroit law enforcement officials on Wednesday broke down the 2012 homicide statistics, revealing the racial makeup of victims, relationship between killer and victims, location of slayings — residential versus nonresidential — and motive.

Detroit tallied 411 homicides in 2012 — 386 criminal and 25 justified — the most per capita since 1993, according to The Detroit Free Press.

Here is a further breakdown of the 386 criminal homicides:

Victim/killer relationship:

Acquainted: 42.7 percent
Unacquainted: 11.4 percent
Relationship unknown: 46.9 percent

Criminal motive:

Anger/argument: 37.3 percent
Undetermined: 35.8 percent
Drugs: 15.5 percent
Robbery: 11.4 percent

Race/Gender:

Black male: 78 percent
Black female: 10.9 percent
White male 10.9 percent
Hispanic: 2.8 percent
White female: 1 percent
Undetermined: 1 percent

Residential v. Nonresidential:

Residential: 88 percent
nonresidential: 12 percent
